of youth center and learning to take responsibilities
at younger ages are strengthening the citizen-state
friendship and creating the institutions providing the
best young-based services in Turkey. Young people
between the ages 7 - 26 can benefit from Youth
Centers in all days of the week.

communicate with each other. Every year, in the
framework of a program, every province carries out
an exchange program with another.
With the Project of Exchange Between the Youth
Centers, having the slogan of "There are no you or
me, there are us and the unity", young people from
all over Turkey have become cultural delegates. In
the context of this program, every province is matched
with another and exchanges are organized. While
these exchanges are taking place, young people
from these two provinces come together, produce
beneficial campaigns for the society and with the
advantages of knowing their locals well, they share
information about their cultures. Host Youth Center
treats well the guest young people in the houses of
some families in the local and tries to give them
information about the family structure. Also, history
of that province is introduced by visiting the touristic
and cultural places about that province.
In 2005; 480, in 2006; 936, in 2007; 960 and in 2008;
approximately 1000 young people have participated
in these exchanges.

Cooperation with South
Korea in Youth Field
It is foreseen by the protocols signed that Turkey and South Korea would
engage in the cooperative works in "youth" field. These works have been
started by the bilateral exchange programs.
As the Headship of Youth Services, we are continuing
to increase our effectiveness in the works at international
arena. A new one is added to the protocols signed with
Germany.
The first of South Korea Youth Exchanges, which will
take place at the base of countries every year, was
completed in December last year. The exchange is
carried out at two stages, where 10 people from each
country participated. This year first we hosted the group
coming from Korea. They very much appreciated the
visits we organized for them to Ýstanbul, Ankara and
Nevþehir. Especially, they showed very much interest
to historical places. They stated that we were so lucky
to have such kind of beautiful places and that they also
had impressed by the friendliness of the Turkish people.

We are organizing some activities within the context of the protocols signed
with the youth clubs. We participated in the youth exchange in the context

6 young people from Turkey participated in the project
called "Fight Against Racism and Art as a Tool of
Tolerance" on 15-22 June 2008, in Napoli, Italy,
where also the young people from Hungary and
Slovakia participated.
Young people lived the excitement of seeing a different
country and working as a team with people from
different cultures. Together they organized some
workshops, where they tried to reflect racism and
tolerance by photographs. Young people from our
country emphasized that there is no racism in Turkey
and one of the most important features of our culture
is tolerance. Besides, they exhibited the film of "The
