ToinstallJava,rightclickonthejavamediafileyouhavedownloadedforyourmachine.Inthefollowing
examplethejdk6u27windowsi586.exeisbeingrun.
Followtheinstallationinstructionsonthescreentocompletetheinstallation.Inmostcasesthe
installationdefaultspresentedbythewizardwillgiveacleaninstallationoftheJavaenvironment.

UsetheJavaiconintheControlPanelofyourWindowsenvironmenttoruntheJavaControlPanel
dialog.

UnziptheV2969201.zipmediadeliveryfiletoyourDownloadsorotherconvenientfolderonthe
computer.Theinstallationmediaimagewillcreatethefollowingfolderstructure:

LocatetheSetup.exefileintheP6_R82_Professional_Clientfolderandrightclickonit.
SelecttheOpenoptionfromthemenu.Youcanalsodoubleclicktostarttheinstaller.
Theinstallermaypromptyoutoinstallcertainprerequisiteprogramsonyourmachine.Theseinclude
theDHTMLEditingComponentandMicrosoft.NETFramework4(x86andx64).Ifprompted,allowthe
installertoproceedwiththeseinstallations.
Oncetheprerequisitesareinstalled,themainPrimaveraP6ProfessionalR8.2Setupdialogwillappear.
ClickNext.
IntheChooseSetupTypedialog,clickontheStandalonebutton.

YouwillnowbepromptedtoinstallthedatabaseforP6.Enterapasswordandconfirmationpassword
intothefieldprovided.
Important:Besuretomakeacarefulnoteofthispassword.Itwillbeusedforallthedatabase
passwordsandtheP6administrativeusersonceyoulogin.
Thepasswordyouentershouldbe8charactersinlengthorthefollowingpromptwillappear:

IntheSampleDatadialog,checktheoptiontoloadthesampledataaspartofyourP6installation.
TrainingNote:IfyouareloadingthisinordertoparticipateinaTenSixonlineoronsitetrainingclass,

PrimaveraP6ProfessionalcannowbestartedusingthePrimaveraP6R8.2optioninthePrograms
sectionoftheWindowsStartmenu.
TologintoP6,enteraLoginNameofadminandthenenterthepasswordyouprovidedtheinstaller
earlier.
Thefirsttimeyoulogin,youwillseethefollowingprompt:
TosettheappropriateIndustryoption,clickontheAdmin|AdminPreferencesmenuoption.
IntheAdminPreferencesdialog,clickontheIndustrytabandselectyourdesiredindustrysector
option.
