Branches of Law
1. LAW OF CONTRACT sets rules on agreements to buy and sell items and services.
2. PROPRETY LAW states the rights and obligationes a persone has when they buy, sell and
rent homes and buildings.
3.CONSTITUTIONAL LAW relates to the running of gouvernments and civil rights.
4.CRIMINAL LAW is concered with acts contraty the oreder, peace and security of sociaty
which are punisable by the state.
5. FAMILY LAW covers all areas of law realating to a marriage, divorce and children.
6. LABOR LAW (employment law) deals with the rights and relationship between employers
and employees.
7. INTELECTUAL PROPRETY LAW provides a framework to protect the legal rights of writers,
artists, inventors, traders and others.
8. CONFLICT OF LAWS (nece biti na testu) a set of procedural rules which legal system, and
the law of which jurisdiction, applies to a given dispute. The rules typically apply when a

Dopuniti:
The civil law is more widw raging. The civil law includes the law of LAW OF CONTRACT family
law and intelectual PROPRATY LAW. In a civil case, the PLAINTIFF normaly a private
individual or company, BRINGS an ACTION compenasation.
If the case is proven the defendant normally pays the plaintiff DAMAGES (money).
DAMAGES-always a plural form; synonim COMPENASATION-money that defendant has to
pay
Criminal law deals with CRIME a case is called A PROSECUTION. The case is instituted by the
prosecuter who takes the case from the POLICE, who have already decided to CHARGE the
DEFENDANT (or ACCUSED) with specific crime.
