Plaintiff Prestige Flag Mfg. Co., Inc. (Prestige) complains and alleges as

2 follows against Defendant Par Aide Products Co. (Par Aide).

3
4

THE PARTIES
1.

Plaintiff is a California corporation, having a principal place of

5 business at 591 Camino De La Reina # 917, San Diego, California 92108.

6

2.

On information and belief, Defendant Par Aide is a Minnesota

7 corporation, having a principal place of business at 6800 Otter Lake Road, Lino
8 Lakes, Minnesota 55038.
9

3.

The true names, identities and capacities, whether individual, associate,

11 (the DOE Defendants), are unknown to Prestige at this time, who therefore sues
12 the DOE Defendants by such fictitious names. When the true names and capacities
13 or participation of the DOE Defendants are ascertained, Prestige will amend this
14 complaint to assert the true names, identities and capacities. Prestige is informed
15 and believes and thereon alleges that each of the DOE Defendants sued herein is
16 responsible for the wrongful acts alleged herein, and is therefore liable to Prestige in
17 some manner for the events and happenings alleged in this complaint. Prestige is
18 informed and believes and thereon alleges that at all times herein mentioned, the
19 DOE Defendants were and are doing business and/or residing in this District.

NATURE OF THE ACTION

4.

This is a civil action against Defendants for infringement of United

JURISDICTION AND VENUE

5.

This Court has original subject matter jurisdiction of this action under

3 15 U.S.C. 1121(a) (federal question), 28 U.S.C. 1331 (federal question), and 28

4 U.S.C. 1338(a) and (b) (any Act of Congress relating to patents and trademarks
5 and related unfair competition), and under the supplemental jurisdiction of this
6 Court, as embodied in 28 U.S.C. 1367(a).
7

6.

This Court has specific and general personal jurisdiction over

8 Defendants pursuant to due process and/or the California Long Arm Statute because
9 Defendants have committed and continue to commit acts of infringement in
10 violation of 35 U.S.C. 271(a), (b), and (c), and place infringing products into the
11 stream of commerce, with the knowledge or understanding that such products are
12 sold in the State of California, including in this judicial district. Moreover,
13 Defendants acts, including both unfair competition and other violations of
14 California law, caused and are causing injury to Prestige within this judicial district.
15 On information and belief, Defendants derive substantial revenue from the sale of
16 infringing products within this judicial district, expect their actions to have
17 consequences within this judicial district, and derive substantial revenue from
18 interstate and international commerce, including within this judicial district.
19

7.

Venue is proper within this judicial district under 28 U.S.C. 1391(b)

20 because a substantial portion of the events giving rise to the claims for relief stated
21 in this Complaint arose in this judicial district. Specifically, Defendants have sold
22 or offered for sale infringing products in this district, and have committed other acts
23 complained of infra within this district. In addition, venue is proper because
24 Prestiges principal place of business is in this district and Prestige suffered and is
25 suffering harm in this district.
26
27

BACKGROUND FACTS
8.

Plaintiff Prestige is a San Diego-based company that designs and

28 manufactures flags, banners, golf course flags, flagsticks, and golf course

1 accessories, including a line of reflection rangefinder products for gauging distance.

2 Customers use Prestiges high quality products in many places throughout the
3 world, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia.
4

9.

On October 25, 2013, Prestige duly acquired a golf stick and reflector

5 business from Golf Solutions I, L.L.C. d/b/a Laser Link Golf (the Laser Link
6 Business) pursuant to an asset purchase agreement between the two companies and
7 in exchange for substantial consideration. Further, pursuant to this asset purchase
8 agreement, Prestige acquired the intellectual property, goodwill, and physical assets
9 related to the Laser Link Business.
10

10.

The acquired Laser Link Business includes reflection products such as

11 flagstick reflectors, sold under the names SmartStick (flagstick-embedded

12 reflectors) and Smarty (flagstick screw-on reflectors). The SmartStick is a golf
13 flagstick that contains reflective prism inserts embedded in the body thereof. The
14 Smarty 5 Reflector screws into the top of a golf flagstick, and contains five prisms
15 that reflect laser light. Coupled with a rangefinder, a device that sends laser light
16 toward the flagstick and receives laser light reflected back from reflectors in the
17 flagstick, each of Prestiges SmartStick and Smarty 5 Reflector (collectively,
18 Reflection Products), enable a golfer to accurately determine the distance between
19 the golfer and the flagstick.
20

11.

In connection with its acquisition of the Laser Link Business and the

21 associated intellectual property and goodwill, Prestige acquired and owns all right,
22 title, and interest in the asserted design patents: (1) the D405 Patent, titled
23 Flagpole Reflector, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A; (2) the D243
24 Patent, titled Flag Stick Reflector, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit B; and
25 (3) the D637 Patent, titled Flag Stick Reflector Insert, a copy of which is attached
26 as Exhibit C. The designs claimed in the Asserted Patents are embodied in
27 Prestiges Smarty 5 Reflector (as well as a previously offered substantially similar
28 product sold under the trade name Smarty Reflector) and/or in Prestiges SmartStick

1 products. Prestige also acquired all of Golf Solutions Is rights and goodwill in the
2 trade names SmartStick and Smarty and the trade dress embodied in the SmartStick
3 and Smarty.
4

12.

Since acquiring the Laser Link Business, Prestige has continuously

5 offered for sale its Smarty and SmartStick products in interstate commerce, and has
6 vigorously protected its intellectual property, including the innovative and
7 distinctive designs of Prestiges Smarty and SmartStick that are protected through
8 the above-mentioned design patents issued by the United States Patent and
9 Trademark Office and duly assigned to Prestige. Prestiges design patents cover the
10 distinctive ornamental features of the Smarty 5 Reflector and SmartStick products,
11 including, for example, their overall appearances, shapes, and the location and
12 distribution of prisms throughout the devices. Prestige is informed and believes that
13 customers in the marketplace have come to associate these distinctive ornamental
14 features and overall appearances with Prestiges high quality products, including its
15 Smarty and SmartStick products.
16

13.

On information and belief, Defendant Par Aide is a worldwide provider

17 of a number of golf course accessories. On information and belief, Par Aides

18 products are on sale and in use throughout the United States, including in the State
19 of California. As early as 2010, Par Aide offered for sale the SmartStick and
20 Smarty Reflector products. For example, Par Aides 2010 catalog, a copy of which
21 is attached as Exhibit D, offered the SmartStick products for sale according to
22 specific part numbers (e.g., 730-079, 740-079, etc.). Par Aide likewise offered the
23 Smarty Reflector for sale in its 2010 catalog under the part number 1736. Par Aide
24 continued to offer these products for sale throughout 2013, in which year Par Aides
25 catalog still contained these products under the same part numbers. A copy of the
26 relevant portions of Par Aides 2013 catalog is attached as Exhibit E. Prestige is
27 informed and believes that Par Aides catalogs from these years are still widely
28 available to customers on the Internet.

COMPLAINT

Case 3:14-cv-02711-JAH-JMA Document 1 Filed 11/14/14 Page 6 of 21

14.

Prestige is informed and believes that in 2014, Par Aide began offering

2 its own knock-off reflector products, dubbed Prism Flagsticks and PinSite Reflector,
3 in lieu of the previously offered SmartStick and Smarty products. Prestige did not
4 authorize Par Aide to practice the designs claimed in the Asserted Patents. Nor has
5 Prestige authorized Par Aide to offer products confusingly similar to Prestiges
6 SmartStick and Smarty products. Similarly, Prestige has never authorized Par Aide
7 to use Prestiges duly held goodwill and intellectual property associated with the
8 Laser Link Business, including the distinctive trade dress customers have come to
9 recognize when seeking the SmartStick and Smarty Reflector.
10

15.

Par Aides knock-off Prism Flagsticks bear a striking resemblance to

11 Prestiges SmartStick products. Par Aides Prism Flagsticks are shown in the
12 attached Exhibit F, which is a screen shot from Par Aides website. On information
13 and belief, this resemblance includes overall the appearance of the SmartStick
14 products, for example, the shape and arrangement of the prisms in the sticks, and the
15 colors and overall design of the sticks. Thus, Par Aides Prism Sticks are
16 confusingly similar to the previously offered SmartStick products. Moreover, Par
17 Aid sells its Prism Flagsticks under the very same part numbers it previously used
18 for the SmartStick products, as demonstrated by the attached Exhibit G, which is a
19 screen shot from Par Aides website.
20

16.

Additionally, Par Aides knock-off PinSite Reflector bears a striking

21 resemblance to Prestiges Smarty products. Par Aides PinSite Reflector is shown

22 in the attached Exhibit H, which is a screen shot from Par Aides website. On
23 information and belief, this resemblance includes overall appearance of the Smarty
24 product, for example, the shape and arrangement of the prisms in the reflector, the
25 color and material of the reflector, and the shape and overall appearance of the
26 reflector itself. Thus, Pair Aides knock-off PinSite Reflector is confusingly similar
27 to the previously offered Smarty reflectorand again, Par Aide offers its PinSite

1 Reflector under the exact same part number it previously used for the Smarty (see
2 Exhibit H).
3

17.

On information and belief, Par Aide has used, imported into, sold, or

4 offered for sale in the United States its PinSite Reflector product, which infringes
5 the Asserted Patents. Par Aide has not obtained permission from Prestige to use,
6 sell, offer, or import Prestiges designs claimed in the Asserted Patents. On the
7 contrary, though Par Aide once licensed the Asserted Patents from their previous
8 assignee, Par Aide has not sought to renew this license. Par Aide had many options
9 in developing its PinSite Reflector. Nevertheless, Par Aide chose to willingly
10 infringe Prestiges designs claimed in the Asserted Patents by making, using, selling
11 or offering for sale, and/or importing its PinSite Reflector product during the terms
12 of Prestiges Asserted Patents, knowing full well that its PinSite Reflector product is
13 covered by the Asserted Patents.
14

18.

On information and belief, the resemblance between Par Aides PinSite

15 Reflector and the Smarty 5 Reflector (and the designs claimed in the Asserted
16 Patents) is such as to deceive an ordinary observer, giving such attention as a
17 purchaser usually gives, including inducing the purchaser to purchase one supposing
18 it to be the other. Par Aides PinSite Reflector has an overall appearance that is
19 confusingly similar and substantially the same, in view of the prior art and in the
20 eyes of an ordinary observer, as the Smarty 5 Reflector (and the designs claimed in
21 the Asserted Patents), as demonstrated by the side-by-side comparison below (Table

FIRST CAUSE OF ACTION

Infringement of Design Patent D405

21.

Prestige incorporates and realleges Paragraphs 1 through 20 of this

4 Complaint.
5

22.

Under 35 U.S.C. 271(a), Defendants have infringed and continue to

6 infringe, literally or under the doctrine of equivalents, the D405 Patent by making,
7 using, selling, and/or offering to sell in the United States, and/or importing into the
8 United States the PinSite Reflector identified in this Complaint, which PinSite
9 Reflector embodies the design covered by the D405 Patent.
10

23.

Moreover, Defendants have infringed and continue to infringe the

11 D405 Patent indirectly, under 35 U.S.C. 271(b) and (c), by inducing others to
12 infringe the D405 Patent, and by committing acts that constitute contributory
13 infringement of the D405 Patent.
14

24.

On information and belief, Defendants have gained profits by virtue of

15 their infringement of the D405 Patent.

16

25.

On information and belief, Prestige has sustained damages as a direct

17 and proximate result of Defendants infringement of the D405 Patent, and, as such,
18 Prestige is entitled to damages pursuant to 35 U.S.C. 284 and/or 289.
19

26.

Moreover, Prestige is informed and believes that Defendants

20 infringement of the D405 Patent is and has been willful. On information and belief,
21 Defendants have acted and continue to act with objective recklessness by
22 proceeding despite an objectively high likelihood that their actions constitute
23 infringement of Prestiges valid patents, and Defendants are aware of Prestiges
24 patents, including the D405 Patent, and know of the high likelihood that they cover
25 Defendants products.
26

27.

This is an exceptional case warranting an award of treble damages to

27 Prestige under 35 U.S.C. 284, and an award of attorneys fees under 35 U.S.C.
28 285.

COMPLAINT

Case 3:14-cv-02711-JAH-JMA Document 1 Filed 11/14/14 Page 11 of 21

28.

On information and belief, Prestige will suffer and is suffering

2 irreparable harm from Defendants infringement of the D405 Patent. Prestige has
3 no adequate remedy at law and is, under 35 U.S.C. 283, entitled to an injunction
4 against Defendants continuing infringement of the D405 Patent. Unless enjoined,
5 Defendants will continue their infringing conduct.
6

SECOND CAUSE OF ACTION

Infringement of Design Patent D243

29.

Prestige incorporates and realleges Paragraphs 1 through 28 of this

9 Complaint.
10

30.

Under 35 U.S.C. 271(a), Defendants have infringed and continue to

11 infringe, literally or under the doctrine of equivalents, the D243 Patent by making,
12 using, selling, and/or offering to sell in the United States, and/or importing into the
13 United States the PinSite Reflector identified in this Complaint, which PinSite
14 Reflector embodies the design covered by the D243 Patent.
15

31.

Moreover, Defendants have infringed and continue to infringe the

16 D243 Patent indirectly, under 35 U.S.C. 271(b) and (c), by inducing others to
17 infringe the D243 Patent, and by committing acts that constitute contributory
18 infringement of the D243 Patent.
19

32.

On information and belief, Defendants have gained profits by virtue of

20 their infringement of the D243 Patent.

21

33.

On information and belief, Prestige has sustained damages as a direct

22 and proximate result of Defendants infringement of the D243 Patent, and, as such,
23 Prestige is entitled to damages pursuant to 35 U.S.C. 284 and/or 289.
24

34.

Moreover, Prestige is informed and believes that Defendants

25 infringement of the D243 Patent is and has been willful. On information and belief,
26 Defendants have acted and continue to act with objective recklessness by
27 proceeding despite an objectively high likelihood that their actions constitute
28 infringement of Prestiges valid patents, and Defendants are aware of these patents,

This is an exceptional case warranting an award of treble damages to

4 Prestige under 35 U.S.C. 284, and an award of attorneys fees under 35 U.S.C.
5 285.
6

36.

On information and belief, Prestige will suffer and is suffering

7 irreparable harm from Defendants infringement of the D243 Patent. Prestige has
8 no adequate remedy at law and is, under 35 U.S.C. 283, entitled to an injunction
9 against Defendants continuing infringement of the D243 Patent. Unless enjoined,
10 Defendants will continue their infringing conduct.
11

THIRD CAUSE OF ACTION

12

Infringement of Design Patent D637

13

37.

Prestige incorporates and realleges Paragraphs 1 through 36 of this

14 Complaint.
15

38.

Under 35 U.S.C. 271(a), Defendants have infringed and continue to

16 infringe, literally or under the doctrine of equivalents, the D637 Patent by making,
17 using, selling, and/or offering to sell in the United States, and/or importing into the
18 United States the Prism Flagsticks identified in this Complaint, which Prism
19 Flagsticks embody the design covered by the D637 Patent.
20

39.

Moreover, Defendants have infringed and continue to infringe the

21 D637 Patent indirectly, under 35 U.S.C. 271(b) and (c), by inducing others to
22 infringe the D637 Patent, and by committing acts that constitute contributory
23 infringement of the D637 Patent.
24

40.

On information and belief, Defendants have gained profits by virtue of

25 their infringement of the D637 Patent.

26

41.

On information and belief, Prestige has sustained damages as a direct

27 and proximate result of Defendants infringement of the D637 Patent, and, as such,
28 Prestige is entitled to damages pursuant to 35 U.S.C. 284 and/or 289.

11

44.

On information and belief, Prestige will suffer and is suffering

16

FOURTH CAUSE OF ACTION

17

Trade Dress Infringement, 15 U.S.C. 1125(a)(3))

18

45.

Prestige incorporates and realleges Paragraphs 1 through 44 of this

19 Complaint.
20

46.

Prestiges trade dress consists of the following elements as actually

21 used on the SmartStick products: a combination of a golf flagpole with reflectors

22 embedded in the body of the flagpole. These elements have consistently been
23 marketed under the trade name SmartStick and have generated goodwill and
24 consumer recognition accruing to Prestiges Laser Link business.
25

47.

Prestiges trade dress has acquired a secondary meaning. Prestige

26 and/or its predecessors-in-interest have been selling SmartSticks with its distinctive
27 trade dress since March 1, 2003. On information and belief, until, Par Aide began

1 offering its infringing Prism Flagsticks there was no other product on the market
2 bearing the SmartStick trade dress.
3

48.

Prestige is informed and believes, and thereon alleges, that Par Aide

4 has been designing, marketing, offering for sale and selling products that
5 incorporate Prestiges SmartStick trade dress.
6

49.

Par Aide is not now, and never has been, authorized by Prestige to use

7 Prestiges trade dress or any confusingly similar trade dress in connection with the
8 marketing and/or sale of Par Aides infringing Prism Flagstick.
9

50.

Previously, Par Aide sold Prestiges SmartSticks in its catalogs. See

10 Exs. D and E. Catalogs offering the SmartSticks associated the SmartStick products
11 with the SmartStick trade name. See id. Par Aides marketing and sale of copies of
12 infringing flag sticks is likely to cause confusion, mistake, and/or deception among
13 consumers as to the source, quality, and nature of Prestiges SmartSticks.
14

51.

Prestige has suffered actual damages from Par Aides conduct in an

15 amount to be proven at trial.

16

52.

Par Aide has received wrongful gains from its conduct in an amount to

17 be proven at trial.
18

53.

Prestige is informed and believes, and thereon alleges that, unless

19 restrained by the Court, Par Aide will continue to infringe Prestiges SmartStick
20 trade dress, thus engendering a multiplicity of judicial proceedings, and that
21 pecuniary compensation will not afford Prestige adequate relief for the damage to its

23 thereon alleges, that in the absence of injunctive relief, customers are likely to
24 continue being mistaken or deceived as to the true source, origin, sponsorship, and

26

Prestige is informed and believes, and thereon alleges, that Par Aides

27 acts were committed, and continue to be committed, with actual notice of Prestiges

1 deceive, and to cause injury to the reputation and goodwill associated with Prestige
2 and its SmartSticks. Pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1117, Prestige is therefore entitled to
3 recover three times its actual damages or three times Par Aides profits, whichever is
4 greater, together with Prestiges attorneys' fees. In addition, pursuant to 15 U.S.C.
5 1118, Prestige is entitled to an order requiring destruction of all infringing products
6 and promotional materials in Par Aides possession.
7

FIFTH CAUSE OF ACTION

Unfair Competition Under 15 U.S.C. 1125(a)

55.

Prestige incorporates and realleges Paragraphs 1 through 54 of this

10 Complaint.
11

56.

The acts of Par Aide complained of above are likely to cause confusion,

12 or to cause mistake, or to deceive as to the affiliation, connection, or association as

13 to the origin, sponsorship, or approval of Par Aides and Prestiges goods.
14 Moreover, the acts of Par Aid complained of above misrepresent the nature,
15 characteristics, or qualities of Par Aides and Prestiges goods. These acts thus
16 constitute false designation of origin and/or affiliation, false or misleading
17 description of fact, or false or misleading representation of fact, in violation of 15
18 U.S.C. 1125(a).
19

57.

Prestige is informed and believes that Par Aides acts include, for

20 example, offering Par Aides Prism Flagsticks and PinSite Reflector for sale and
21 piggybacking off Prestiges goodwill, not only by copying the distinctive designs
22 and appearances of Prestiges SmartSticks and Smarty products, but also by
23 retaining the same part numbers that Par Aide previously used to identify these
24 products to customers.
25

58.

Prestige has suffered actual damages from Par Aides conduct in an

26 amount to be proven at trial.

27

59.

Par Aide has received wrongful gains from its conduct in an amount to

28 be proven at trial.
-15SMRH:434791321.2

COMPLAINT

Case 3:14-cv-02711-JAH-JMA Document 1 Filed 11/14/14 Page 16 of 21

60.

Prestige is informed and believes, and thereon alleges that, unless

2 restrained by the Court, Par Aide will continue to designate falsely the origin of its
3 goods, causing irreparable damage to Prestige and engendering a multiplicity of
4 lawsuits. Pecuniary compensation will not afford Prestige adequate relief for its
5 resulting damages. Further, Prestige is informed and believes, and thereon alleges,
6 that in the absence of injunctive relief, customers are likely to continue being
7 mistaken or deceived as to the true source, origin, sponsorship, and affiliation of Par
8 Aides goods.
9

61.

Prestige is informed and believes, and thereon alleges, that Par Aides

10 acts were committed, and continue to be committed, with actual notice of Prestiges
11 exclusive rights and with intent to cause confusion, to cause mistake, and/or to
12 deceive, and to cause injury to the reputation and goodwill associated with Prestige
13 and its SmartSticks. Pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1117, Prestige is therefore entitled to
14 recover three times its actual damages or three times Par Aides profits, whichever is
15 greater, together with Prestiges attorneys' fees. In addition, pursuant to 15 U.S.C.
16 1118, Prestige is entitled to an order requiring destruction of all infringing products
17 and promotional materials in Par Aides possession.
18

SIXTH CAUSE OF ACTION

19

Common Law Unfair Competition

20

62.

Prestige incorporates and realleges Paragraphs 1 through 61 of this

21 Complaint.
22

63.

The acts of Par Aide complained of above constitute unfair competition

23 under the common law of the State of California. Prestige expended significant time
24 and resources in the goodwill associated with its SmartStick and Smarty products.
25 On information and belief, Par Aide copied those products, including their
26 distinctive designs, and is trading off that goodwill at relatively little to no
27 engineering or design expense and without Prestiges authorization. Prestige has

2 confusion.
3

64.

Prestige is informed and believes that further examples of Par Aides

4 acts of unfair competition include sales of confusingly similar Par Aide products.
5

65.

Prestige has suffered actual damages from Par Aides conduct in an

6 amount to be proven at trial.

7

66.

Par Aide has received wrongful gains from its conduct in an amount to

8 be proven at trial.
9

67.

Par Aides acts complained of above were committed with fraud,

10 malice, and oppression as those terms are defined in Cal. Civ. Code 3294. Par
11 Aides actions were intended to cause harm to Prestige, and Par Aide carried on its
12 conduct with a willful and conscious disregard for Prestiges rights. Par Aide
13 intentionally misrepresented, deceived, and/or concealed its conduct and Prestiges
14 relationship with the SmartStick and Smarty products, thereby depriving Prestige of
15 its legal rights and causing Prestige injury.
16

SEVENTH CAUSE OF ACTION

17

Statutory Unfair Competition Under Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code 17200 & 17500

18

68.

Prestige incorporates and realleges Paragraphs 1 through 67 of this

19 Complaint.
20

69.

Par Aides acts complained of above constitute unlawful, unfair, or

21 fraudulent business practices, and deceptive, untrue, or misleading advertising in

22 violation of California statutory law, including violation of Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code
23 17200 and 17500, all to Prestiges injury. Moreover, the above-described acts
24 constitute unfair competition under 15 U.S.C. 1125(a), and are therefore unlawful
25 acts in violation of Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code 17200 and 17500.
26

70.

As a direct and proximate result of Par Aides acts, Par Aide has

27 received profits from, and will continue to profit from, wrongfully trading on
28 Prestiges goodwill.
-17SMRH:434791321.2

COMPLAINT

Case 3:14-cv-02711-JAH-JMA Document 1 Filed 11/14/14 Page 18 of 21

71.

Prestige is entitled to an injunction restraining Par Aide and its officers,

2 against, and employees, and all persons acting in concert or participation with them,
3 from further engaging in any such acts of unfair competition as alleged above.
4 Prestige has no adequate remedy at law for Par Aides continuing violation of
5 Prestiges rights.
6

72.

Prestige is further entitled to recover from Par Aide the damages,

7 including attorneys fees, it has sustained and will sustain, and any gains, profits,
8 and advantages obtained by Par Aide as a result of Par Aides acts of unfair
9 competition alleged above. At present, Prestige cannot fully ascertain the amount of
10 such damages, gains, profits, and advantages. Par Aide should be required to fully
11 restore to Prestige any and all profits earned as a result of Par Aides unlawful and
12 fraudulent actions, or to provide Prestige with any other restitutionary relief as the
13 Court deems appropriate.
14

73.

Prestige is informed and believes and on that basis alleges that the

15 alleged acts of Par Aide were willful and malicious, entitling Prestige to punitive
16 damages.
17

FLAGSTICK
Trust only the original

The Par Aide Flagstick. Yes, the often-imitated design

that proves Par Aides innovation leads the pack. What
sets it apart is the patented no-stick ferrule. Introduced
13 years ago, it still outperforms any other in the
industry. And heres why:
Seven grooves minimize surface contact with the
cup and eliminate 2/3 of the normal friction
created by a straight ferrule.
Grooves let sand settle out of the bottom rather
than in the cup.
Die-cast zinc design is corrosion resistant.
Will properly rotate in the cup socket preventing the

flagstick from rocking in the wind and elongating

the cup hole.

ENSEMBLES

Specialty Flags

Engineered to maintain their good looks despite long exposure to wind and sunlight.
Improved fade-resistant colors, thanks to a patented DuPont process.
Stronger stitching, including bar-tacked corners and four rows of fly-hem stitching, ensures durability in highwinds.

Two weights available: 200 denier and 400 denier.

Lightweight 200 denier nylon construction makes flags sensitive to even gentle breezes, giving golfers a better
determination of wind direction. When durability is more important, look to our heavier-construction,
400 denier flags.

Pin Placement Indicators

Tube-style and tie-style flags are available.

Embroidered and Screen-Printed Flags

Custom screen-printed flags

Our Details Add Up To A Better EMBROIDERED FLAG

Tube-style and tie-style flags available with a custom look for your course. Jr. Flags also available in tube-style only.

Turn to Par Aide when high quality and exceptional service are what you demand for embroidered flags. Our premium line of
embroidered flags is constructed using 400 denier material with reinforced stitching. The 400 denier material is more durable
and is less likely to pucker when embroidered upon. Par Aide continues to recommend a lighter 200denier material for
regular golf flags, but recognizes a heavier 400 denier material provides the highest quality and satisfaction when
embroidery is preferred.

Lets talk about your artwork before we get started

Good artwork is essential to get the process started. To accurately price your logo for embroidered or screen-printed custom flags,
you need to provide us with an example of your logo. A high-resolution vector-based or 800 dpi artwork would be the best example
of your logo. Low-resolution artwork, such as a scorecard or letterhead, can be used but may require an additional artcharge.

1. Unique reverse bobbined stitching on all flags reverses embroidery detail on back side of flag. No additional charge.
2. Fastest turnaround time in the industry. 23 weeks from receipt of approved order.

Ordering process: High quality is always in stock

3. Constructed with premium 400 denier flag material rather than 200 denier.

From start to finish, our step-by-step process makes it easy and convenient for you.

4. Thread is made of colorfast material, specifically designed for outdoor use.

1. Acquire artwork. You need the correct artwork of your logo before we can start.

5. Flags are made of protected nylon for maximum fade resistance.

2. Select flag. Determine flag style, colors and quantity. Twelve-flag minimum for embroidery. Nine-flag minimum for screen printing.

6. Available in convenient tube-style or tie-style (with grommets).

3. Contact Par Aide dealer. Work with your local Par Aide dealer to facilitate a price quotation.
4. Approve quote. Once a purchase order is received, a sample flag or JPEG file will be sent for logo approval
when needed/requested. Contact your Par Aide dealer directly if any changes need to be made.

See fine detail on both sides of the flag with our unique process
Unbelievable precision and quality. We took flag embroidery to the next level by utilizing the exclusive reverse bobbined stitching
technique. The reverse bobbined technique embroiders your logo in reverse on the back side of the flag. This gives you extraordinary
detail on both sides of the flag, eliminating the unattractive white thread that is commonly found. All of our embroidered flags feature
this technique. This is just another example of how Par Aide takes its passion to improve existing products for the game of golf.

5. Experience the fastest turnaround. Once we have final logo approval, please allow 23 weeks for delivery.
