Specification of Bricks:
All bricks shall be of first class of NS/IS standards specification made of good brick earth through burnt and shall be
of deep cherry red copper colours. Bricks shall be regular in shape and their edges should be sharp and square and
shall emit clear ringing sound on being struck and shall be free from cracks. Chips flaws and lumps of any kind.
Bricks shall not absorb water more than one sixth of their weight after one hour of soaking by immersing in water.
The revised size of bricks is 23cm*11.40cm*7.60cm(Nominal Size of bricks)

TERMS & CONDITIONS


1.

Tenders will be opened at the LWF/BRP, Damak, Jhapa at 2.30 PM on


26th March, 2009 in the presence of the bidders or their
representatives. However, opening of the tenders will not be withheld
even if the bidders or their representatives remain absent at the
scheduled time.

Tender award notice will be published in the office notice board only.
Successful bidder(s) will personally call at LWF- Nepal/BRP Damak,
Jhapa within 7 (Seven) days from the tender award notification date to
sign an agreement, failing which the bid bond will be forfeited.

Bid Bond:

Tender bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, shall be in the form of


bank guarantee issued by national bank having certificate with grade
A, equal to the amount of not less than 5% of the total quoted bid
amount in favour of Lutheran World Federation, -Nepal, Bhutanese
Refugee Project, Damak, Jhapa.

The Bid Bond must be valid for at least 90 days from the date of
issued. The successful Bidder may be required to extend the validity
of the Bid Bond up to the time when the performance Bond is
furnished. The Bid Bond of the successful bidder will be released as
soon a he has furnished the performance Bond as herein required. The
Bid bond of unsuccessful Bidder will be released as soon as the
decision on the award of contract to the successful Bidder has been
reached.

If the successful Bidder fails to sign the contract.
If the successful Bidder fails to furnish the performance
bond in accordance with General condition of contract.
Cheque, cash, bank voucher will not be accepted.

Performance Bond:
4.1

The Supplier shall cause Performance bond to be furnished to the


LWF Nepal /BRP in the amount of not less than five percent (5%)
of the contract value in the favour of LUTHERAN WORLD
FEDERATION, DEPARTMENT FOR WORLD SERVICE-NEPAL
PROGRAM, BHUTANESE REFUGEE PROJECT, DAMAK,
JHAPA.Such Performance Bond shall be provided within 7

calendar days after the date of notification to the successful


Bidder.

The proceeds of the Performance Bond shall be payable to LWF


Nepal/BRP as compensation for any loss resulting from the
Contractors failure to complete its work under the contract.

4.3

The performance Bond should be valid for 90 days after signing


the agreement, in the form of Bank guarantee, issued by national
bank having certificate with grade A, and can be extended, if
LWF Nepal/BRP requires.

Tender is not submitted in a sealed envelope.
Bid bond is not enclosed with tender form.
Tender form has any corrected figures, corrected by pen or fluid
and conditional Bid.
Tender Form, Bid Bond or confirmation of Bid Bond is received
after the given time from the Project.

The tender must be completely filled in the form issued by the office.
Signed, stamped and sealed tender must be received by no later than
2:00 PM, on 23rd March, 2009. Tenders, any part thereof, received after
the stipulated time will not be accepted. Submitted sealed envelope
should be marked with Tender for Bricks

Tax deduction at source (TDS) as per Government rules and regulations


will be deducted from the bill. Other (Local + Government Tax)
liabilities should be covered by the Contractor.

8.

Quoted rate and total amount should be mentioned clearly. Quoted


rates should be delivery at said location (Inclusive of VAT, custom
duties and other similar import taxes, if applicable local tax and
Transportation).

The quantity mentioned in the tender form may be change according


to office need. In such cases, LWF Nepal/BRP shall inform the supplier
at least 7 days in advance of the last delivery date in writing.

10. The quality of Bricks must confirm according to specification stipulated


in tender form. The Bricks will be supplied in the following camps and
place:
Sanichare camp
Beldangi-I camp
Beldangi-Ext. camp
Timai camp
Khudunabari camp
Bhalukudi (Humsedumse)

Non-compliance or non-performance with the terms of contract by the


supplier will be ground for termination of the contract and forfeit the
Performance Bond of the amount 5 % of the contract value.

12. Bricks must be supplied within the stipulated time mentioned in the
purchase order. The penalty will be deducted from the payment. If the
supplier fails to supply bricks as per the given time mentioned, the
penalty will be charged on undelivered amount of supply as follows:
1-7
days delay in delivery
2%
8-14 days delay in delivery
3%
15-21 days delay in delivery
5%
More than 21 days delay the contract will be terminated and the
performance bond will be forfeited Or additional 0.125% on the total
amount per day will be charged.

Payment will be made only after delivery of total quantity and


submission of receipt note. Rejected goods are to be returned at the
suppliers in their own risk and cost.

14.

Purchase order will be issued on Camp basis and hence supplier has to
follow the supply accordingly. Liabilities of delivery of goods up to the
said destination will be on the part of suppliers.

15.

The bidder must quote price in accordance with the specification. If the
offer contains any deviations from the said specification; such
deviations must be specifically mentioned in the bid form. Such
deviations shall not be binding, if they conflict in any way with the
requirement of the Bid Documents.

16.

LWF Nepal/BRP holds all the rights to accept, reject or cancel tender
without assigning any reason whatsoever.
