This project is done as a semester project, as a part of course Car Pooling

System I am really thankful to our Project Guide Prof. Sarika Panwal and
Leader Prof. Rajesh Kanzade sir, of Sinhgad Institute of Business
Administration and Computer Application, Lonavala, for his continuous
guidance and assistance, without which the accomplishment of the project
would have never been possible. I also thank him for giving this opportunity
to explore into the real world and realize the need of the Asset
management system which is a growing industry in the IT Sector.
In my present project I have chosen the topic related to Asset management
to provide an interface where the Organization can store their Inventory
records within a secure and reliable system. This report contains an over
view of the Asset management system which provide a mini interface for
keeping inventory related records within the System.
I would like to express my gratitude towards my parents & member of
SIBACA (S.Y. MCA) for their kind co-operation and encouragement which
helped me in completion of this project.

INTRODUCTION
Existing System and Need for System

This system is based on the management of the Inventories which

are used daily in the IT based Organization, this system provide fully
reliable interface to manage records in a system way.

It helps to sort order in different sections i.e:- Hardware and Software.

In Hardware section admin can maintain records related to Hardware
within the system.

In Software section records related to different Softwares are

inserted.

This system helps the user to keep the records of the Assets which
has been purchased by them through different Vendors.

Not many people know about these kinds of services available as this
system is newly launched.

Fear of online transaction.

Need For the System

This Car Pooling System provides an interface to record the

systematic records within the database through user-friendly
management system. This system has been designed for the home
use within an Organization to manage Inventories within the
Organization for their Employees.

This system is based on html, PHP, Javascript. Connectivity with the

PHP has been connected through Apache Server with the help of
PHPmyAdmin Interface to manage Database.

Easy availability of the cab at a particular place. No need to wait for

the cab, as they are readily available for you every day. Different
kinds of packages available. No manipulations can be made on fare
as the fare will be calculated according to the distance the customer
will travel.

Availability of different kinds of cars according to the needs &

comforts of the customers. Not many people know about these kinds
of services available as this system is newly launched. Fear of online
transaction.

Scope of Work

To provide an interface where the Organization will have the option to

store their menus, price, offers details within the system with all the
attributes which are required for Inventory record information.

This system is user-friendly & reliable to use by any person. The

system specifies clean interface & user-oriented options where the
users can store the datas within few clicks.

From end user perspective, this system provides a single userinterface where one user can store a data at a time.

The buyers can check the Order/Purchase date of the Goods when it
had been purchased by the Organization.

Whenever theres a need of any Hardware or Software within an

Organization. The admin can check the Stocks available with the
company and accordingly hell arrange the Hardware or Software for
that specific employee.

No manipulations can be made on fare as the fare will be calculated

according to the distance the customer will travel. Not only that, but
there will be fixed rates applicable according to distance.

Operating Environment Hardware and Software

Hardware Requirements:

Processor: Dual Core

RAM: 256MB Min
Hard Disk: Min 40GB

Software Requirements:
Operating system: Winxp, Win7, Win vista
Browser: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Chrome.

Detail Description of Technology Used

3.1 Feasibility Study

The success of any system resides particularly from the user point,
that is, does the system provide easy operations? The crucial part is
of deciding upon the user requirement and to provide him the best
possible solution.

Feasibility and risk analysis are related in many ways. If project risk is
great, then the feasibility of producing the quality software is required.

1) Technical Feasibility : It is important to analyze whether the software and the hardware
solutions recommended by the user are technically perfect to fit the
scenario or not. The technical queries must be handled. The
proposed system uses current and latest technology.

It is compatible with the already existing technology. The existing

system was manual. Technical analysis begins with the assessment
of the technical viability of the system.

No need for any supporting software.

Helps in improving performance.
No advance knowledge of system needed
Works on Microsoft Windows Xp Os comfortably.

# No extra hardware required for software.

2) Operational Feasibility :-

It is often found that much good software remained unused because

they do not get any effective users. Thus, it is imperative to study the
system for operational feasibility to find out if the employees can use
the proposed system or not?

Does it fit into the organization culture? Is it easy to use? It means

determining whether a proposed project can be implemented fully
within stipulated time frame.

#
#

Easy to built and use.

It provides user-friendly interface.
No need of programming knowledge.
It is operationally flexible.

3) Economical Feasibility : The economic analysis helps in evaluating the effectiveness of the
proposed system. The cost benefit is carried out to compare cost
against its benefits.

Here in present environment, increased profitability, reduced

workforce, lower outside vendors cost are some of the tangible
benefits of the candidate system while enhanced goodwill, improved
resource control, more timely information, better image, improved
operations etc are some intangible benefits.

It includes an evaluation of development cost weighted against

ultimate income or benefit derived from the development of the
system or the product.

Helps in saving administrative expenses.

Basic aim is to increase user satisfaction.
The System is economically flexible.
The System can be afforded by all users.

3.1 Fact Finding Techniques:

During analysis phase for information gathering and collecting data, I
applied some methods, because analysis is a detail study of various
operations performed by a system and their relationship within and
outside of the system. Gathering of information is done by using
strategies for existing systems output and inputs.

Fact Finding Techniques

1) Records Reviews : This strategy helped a lot to understand system flow and working. In
this is referenced all historical records,

many documents, reports,

etc that helped in system development.

It helped in understanding what operations are supported by the
system, which functionality is most important and must be stored
controlled and which not, basic system constraints, all functioning etc.

2) Observation :-

Through observation, the first hand observation about various

activities carried out can be studied.
This method is useful to observe how the system functions are
handled, how process are carried out and whether specified steps
are carried out and whether specified steps are actually forwarded.

3) Interview : This is the basic and very important strategy that I have used for
gathering information. I have interviewed many times with the end
users, professionals, students and lab assistants. This helped a lot
the basic working, need, feasibility, expectations etc about project.

4) Questionnaires : This strategy helped in getting valuable information and

investigating drawbacks of existing system. It was used to obtain
information from users by simply asking them about the
requirements. This helped in detail study and understanding of the
system.

Proposed System
This system is based on the management of the Inventories which
are used daily in the IT based Organization, this system provide
fully reliable interface to manage records in a system way. It helps
to sort order in different sections i.e:- Hardware and Software.

In Hardware section admin can maintain records related to

Hardware within the system. This system helps the user to keep
the records of the Assets which has been purchased by them
through different Vendors.

Objectives of System

This system provides user-friendly access to manage the details of

different Inventories in a multi user oriented system. So, the user
doesnt need to do paper work to maintain the inventory records. All

the details will be managed by the system & through single login a
user can view each Inventory details easily without any external login.

This system is based on PHP language containing a .sql database to

store the Asset records. The system mainly built for the inventory
purposes, for semester mini project. Hence it contains lesser features
which can be extended later easily by adding more modules.

User Requirements:
1) Reliability: The system is designed with reliability as the key feature. The
system is guaranteed of providing the necessary services to the
user. This system is guaranteed to be reliable with maximum
amount of time with the system.

2) Maintainability: The system is developed using the standardized software

development conventions to help in easy review and redesigning
of the system. The system is backed up by a full fledge
documentation of the product which is available with the software
itself.

3) Availability:-

The system is available on demand. It will be loaded on to the system

when the user wants it and similarly the user can delete it if not required.

4) Supportability:The system is compatible with most of the software installed and used
by the user in his system.
