FESCO Ship Returns from Kara Sea


Far East Shipping Company (FESCO) ship Kapitan Khlebnikov has returned to its home port
after completing work in the Kara Sea (Arctic Ocean), north of Siberia. The ship spent the last
few months as an ice patrol tender protecting the West Alpha rig which was prospective
drilling in East Prinovozemelsky.
The Kapitan Khlebnikov arrived on 1st November at Port Vladivostok after exploring and
developing oil and gas fields in the Kara Sea. After navigating the Northern Sea Route in ice
bound conditions, the west-east transit home was completed in 134 days.
The ship will now undergo routine
maintenance, crew rotation and stock
renewal. The Kapitan Khlebnikov expects to
set out again in early February 2015 on the
Sakhalin-2 project and aims to take oil and
LNG tankers to Aniva Bay and Le Perouse
Strait.

Stroynovatsiya Completes Commissioning Work


Summa group subsidiary Stroynovatsiya has completed the second phase of the Caspian
Pipeline Consortium (CPC) project which aims to increase the capacity of the oil pipeline
system. Oil pumping stations (OPS) Nos .3 and 4 of the Republic of Kalmykia and Stavropo
Krai respectively are now complete and include mainline pumps and filters, systems for
smoothing pressure waves and temporary oil sludge storage facilities. The CPC pipeline
system connects the Western Kazakhstan oil fields and the Russian coast of the Black Sea.

FESCO Vessel to Deliver to Antarctic


The Argentine Defence Ministry has announced that the Far East Shipping Company (FESCO)
will participate in the Antarctic logistics project for Argentine research bases in 2015. The
freights will visit research bases Orcadas, Marambio, Esperanza, San Martin, Petrel and
others. The navigation will start in January 2015 for approximately 45 days.

Initially the diesel-electric ship, the Vasily Golovnin (also operated by Fesco), performed the
project works but they have been moved by FESCO to provide coastal services. This
November the Vasily Golovnin will be
loaded with cargo, food products and diesel
and set off for Buenos Aires, Argentina.
This is the 7th year that FESCO will be
participating in the Argentine Defence
Ministry project to ship supplies to the
Argentine research bases in the Antarctic.
