Abstract
This research studied the confidence among Japanese Investors in electronics industry of Nava
Nakorn Industrial Estate after 2011 Thailand floods. The research was based on analyzing government
policies, i.e., water management policies, compensation to electronics industry policies, and BOIs policies
to promote investment in Thailand, including flood prevention strategies from the government and
information related to Japaneses investment. It has been found that Japanese investors maintained their
level of investments or just slightly increased, as flooding in 2011 had caused damages to machines and
raw materials in electronics industry severely, but those could be recovered and repurchased, and it did
not affect the fundamentals of investment, e.g., manpower, raw material location, and infrastructure.
From the flood crisis, the public sector should formulate measures to stimulate Japaneses investments
and strategies to promote the public relations with Japanese investors in order to maintain or increase
level of investment in Thailand.
