Abstract
This study on guideline for the promotion of quality of life of farmers in Tha Krasoem
Community, Nam Phong District, Khon Kaen Province, has applied qualitative research methodology by
conducting in-depth interviews with 20 key informants, farm scholars in Tha Krasome Community, with
an objective to elaborate the researchs findings to develop a guideline for the promotion of quality of
life of the farmers towards sustainability. The discoveries are classified as follows: farmers in Tha Krasoem
Community want to stay healthy and lead a life with simplicity, and this can be seen from their habit of
eating simple foods in the area. They also wish to have houses that are stable, bodies that are energetic
for work, eat and sleep well, and hospitals within their vicinity as well as having public health authority
to educate them on health and hygiene issues. Furthermore, the residents hope to augment their
convenience with new technology and tools and their annual agricultural incomes enough for
households expenses. Surrounded by loving and generous neighbors, families in the community are
content with their simplicity and they always gather together to help each other without any agenda for
rice farming or harvesting. To see their children get good education, accept themselves for who they are,
and lead such simple life like their parents and people around them do are also desired by the people.
These farmers are also very attentive to their health, and so they want to seek advice from health
experts in order to prevent any sickness resulting from the chemicals they use in farming. Farming
profession is what bounds husband and wife together as if the two were one person, and by helping
each other, they stay loyal and settle any disagreement within family with warmth and understanding.
