Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study the need for personal development in the Office of
the Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The researchers employed a
questionnaire to collect data from 252 officials in the agency, and utilized a statistical software package to
evaluate the data. The statistics used in data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean and standard
deviation. The results showed that the need for personal development in the organization in overall, i.e.,
in aspects of general work knowledge, technical knowledge and skills for ones position, career,
personality, foreign language, and information technology, were regarded as high level.
