Abstract
This article presents the results of the literature review of history textbooks used in primary
education of Thailand according to the Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (2008) to analyze any
contents that manifest the concept of royal-nationalism. The results indicate that the entire course is
built on the concept of royal-nationalism history, which convey the idea that Kings are the spiritual center
of the nation, liberators and guardians of independence, and preservers of democracy. This presentation
of the concept originates from the reproduction of such in textbooks of the Basic Education Curriculum

B.E. 2540 (2001) as well as the social and political context throughout the decade from 2540 B.E. (2001)
to early 2550s B.E. (~2010s), which the train of thought on royalism was augmented by a significant
degree.
