Abstract
This research on the process of establishing strong community for sustainability in the fight
against narcotics of Na Hai Community, Ban Han Sub-district, Kaset Somboon District, Chaiyaphum
Province has employed quality-based research methodology; conducting interviews with key information
givers. The discoveries are classified as follows: the objective of the process was set to tackle problems
caused by narcotics, as villagers had always felt that no one has ever acted for real, and thus, along with
the community, they reported information to the police and expected that the police would seriously
help them with these concerns. The villagers began by promoting awareness on narcotics and disclosing
names of those involved in drugs by writing their names and putting them in a box, then inviting the
exposed ones to join the behavior-rehabilitation centre. As for the police, stricter measure was
implemented by conducting regular search and arrest to pressurize those who involved in drugs.
Afterwards, each village would carry out its own public regulations as well as obtain a white flag that
symbolizes narcotics-free. Backed up by the police, the villagers strength is reinforced and many of
them act as sources, informants, for the authority, making it even more difficult for drug dealers and
users. This reflects the villagers righteous power that brings about the peace and happiness in the
community. The leaders and followers have always believed in a great ideology of determination,
sacrifice, strength, and devotion. They all believe in virtue and, once the community achieved its
harmony, the villagers were proud of their mutual cooperation, and are also praised for playing a big part
in strengthening the sustainability of the community that could be developed into a great place for their
descendants later on.
