Safety Relief Valves

A Partnership
Broady Flow Control are the exclusive agents for the UK and Irish markets, in addition to other key non-US markets, for
the new CE marked Flow Safe range of Pilot Operated Valves.
Broady assemble and test each valve in its own large manufacturing facilities at Kingston upon Hull in the UK, and these
new products, compliment the already well specified existing range of Relief, Safety Relief, Reducing and Sustaining
valves supplied for over 100 years, globally, by Broady Flow Control.

Process Industries
The F7000/8000 and
F70PR pressure relief Valve
is a superior choice to protect
industrial process applications
because of the valves heavy
duty, low profile body design.
These valves have the ability to
flow high volumes of gas or liquid
and allows for a smaller valve
size than traditional relief valves
to get the the job done. Smaller
valves are not only less expensive
but also require smaller piping
and isolation valving, and
the associated connections,
both on the inlet and on
the outlet.
With a variety of standard
features on this range of valves
and additional extras on both
types including remote
pressure pickup, field test
connectors and unloading to
name a few, allow operators
greater versatility in the
operation and servicing of
this valve.

Products and features

Todays industrial needs are being driven by requirements for high capacity, leak-tight safety relief
valves to reduce fugitive emissions and to save the customer product. The Flow Safe F7000/8000
Series Pilot Operated Safety relief Valves, with accurate operational characteristics, are engineered
to provide superior performance for todays industries.
F7000/8000 Design features include:

Large capacities through the overbored nozzle (F7000) and a variety of reduced orifice
selections (F8000), API standard orifices.

Direct mount pilot valves, minimising potential leak paths.

Modulating or snap-acting, with interchangeable pilot valves.

Superior main valve seating force, proportional to nameplate set pressure.

Repeatable, bubble-tight seating and re-seating, due to soft seat design.

Compact profiles, for easier handling and installation.

Adjustable blowdown capability.

Superior flow capacities, independently verified.

Full lift at set pressure upon demand.

Easy convertability of orifice sizes, field adjustable.

Integral exhaust with F300 pilot valve.

Set pressures from 15 to 6000 psig.

-423F to +525F temperature range.

A variety of materials and end connections, 316SS trim standard on carbon steel main valves.

Material traceability availability.

Top entry main valve for easy maintenance.

Lifting lugs standard on sizes 2x3 and larger.

One piece main valve casting with integral flanges.

Backflow preventor and field test connection - standard features.

Adjustments are heavy duty stainless steel safety-wired and sealed.

All valves bear ASME UV stamp, at 15 psig and above.

Compliance with industry standards, including ASME, NACE and ANSI.

CE marked.

to pilot valve

Field Test Connector (T) (Standard feature on F7000/8000)

This allows the user to verify the set pressure while in service without
valve removal. An external pressure source may be attached to the FTC to
direct pressure to the pilot valve, while blocking off the inlet pressure, thus

1/2FNPT

checking the set pressure and the general operation of the valve.

backflow preventer

Backflow Preventer (P) (Standard feature on F7000/8000)

To prevent backflow into the system, when outlet pressure exceeds the inlet
pressure, a backflow preventer can be provided. The outlet pressure is
routed to the main valve dome, to ensure that the piston remains closed.

main valve outlet

Remote Pressure Pick-up (R) (Standard feature on F7000/8000)

outlet

Remote pressure pickup is recommended when inlet piping pressure

F70PR

losses exceed 3% to the relief valve. This allows a remote, more direct
pressure sensing to the pilot valve, plus an excellent source of clean air.

Manual/Remote Blowdown (M)

Allows for main valve lift by bypassing the pilot valve. Accomplished by a
manual blowdown valve.

Remote -Unload Blowdown (SC or SO)

Allows for main valve lift by bypassing the pilot valve. Ideal as an unloading valve to eliminate/vent system pressure for positive displacement
blowers, or to act as an emergency shutdown device (ESD) for the natural gas
compressor industry. Accomplished by use of an automatic blowdown valve,
pneumatic,

valve.

Automatic

can

be

in AC or DC, Normal Closed or Normally Open (preferred as

fail safe).

Inlet Supply Filter (F)

to pilot valve

This should be used for dirty applications to clean the supply gas to the
pilot valve. This is supplied with a purge vent.
filter

Closed Dome Tee (D)

This allows the user to verify the set pressure while in service without valve removal. A tee is provided on the main valve cap
to attach a gage or any other instrumentation.

Diverter Assembly (V) (F70PR Only)

Two F100 Pilot valves can be supplied mounted to the F70 main valve assembly, with a switching for maintenance and servicing.

Dual Pilot Valve (Y)

Two F100 pilot valves can be supplied mounted to the F70 main valve assembly, with a switchover valve in between. The pilot
valves can be set at two separate set pressures, allowing the operator the flexibility to change the set point or perform
maintenance on one of the pilot valves.
