Scheme of Work – YEAR 10

This scheme of work is a guide for teachers teaching MA 4 classes, based mainly on
SEBD4, Key Skills in Writing, and Key Skills in Comprehension and Summary Writing.
Teachers should feel free to change, modify, supplement and vary the content of this
scheme according to their students' needs and abilities. The focus of each unit is stated
which will form the main objective for the unit. The essential genres of writing outlined in
the Form 5 outcomes have been targeted. Some SEBD4 units have been left out of this
scheme (Unit 4 Visitors to Brunei-Muara, Unit 6 World of Work; Unit 7 The Fat of the Land;
Unit 9 Health Matters). This is partly due to time constraints, and it was also thought these
were the less effective units. However, teachers are free to include these units if they
wish.
