99 Unite Civic Forum

The 99 Unite Civic Forum is a vehicle for collaboration towards a common

vision, drawing strengths and wisdoms of conservative, moderates, and
progressives alike. In this age of increasing polarization, we hope to be a
voice of moderation and conscience that puts people before politics.

Working Together.
Many ways to contribute
The 99 Unite Civic Forum is an unincorporated association.
However, we are supported by the Friends of Occupy Portland, Inc.
(FOOP), which provides us with meeting and event spaces.
Therefore, at the moment, the best way to support the 99 Unite Civic
Forum is to contribute financially to FOOP. FOOP's financial wellbeing is directly conducive towards the development of the 99 Unite
Civic Forum.
As a 501(c)(4) non-profit and state-registered charity
(Oregon #45976) FOOP is not permitted to engage in direct political
activities (with several exceptions as allowed by law). Almost all of
FOOP's activities are information-and-referral and community
education (i.e., informational booths at local festivals and
community events) only. Therefore, you can be assured that your
contribution will not go to any causes or activities you may feel
objectionable.
In addition to financial contribution, we are also in search
for event-related in-kind contributions, as well as interesting guest
speakers or panelists who can engage the audience and make them
think.
To make a contribution to FOOP's general fund, visit the
FOOP development website at http://foopdevelopment.blogspot.com.
A copy of the 2013 FOOP annual report is also available at the said
website.

Our vision is to be a

socially or economically vulnerable, while exploring ways to

empower individuals through promoting personal responsibilities
and individual liberties. It is our goal to draw from the

strengths and wisdoms of conservatives, libertarians,

centrists, liberals, and progressives alike. In this age of
increasing polarization, the 99 Unite Civic Forum seeks to be a
voice of moderation and conscience that places people
before politics or ideologies.
We hold a regular public discussion forum on issues
of current interest, as well as working on specific policy
researches and recommendations to further the common
good. Additionally, we also engage in public educational
activities to help the public make positive choices to make our
communities a better place.
The 99 Unite Civic Forum is an initiative that came out of the
2013 Occupy Portland Summer Capacity-Building Conference, as a
response to a discussion about how to revive the initial strength of
the movement during the first three weeks of October 2011. Three
months following the conference, the 99 Unite Civic Forum was
established in November 2013.
We currently hold a monthly regular meeting on third
Wednesday of every month at the Friends of Occupy Portland
administrative office at 1131 S.E. Oak St., Portland, Oregon 97214.
While the 99 Unite Civic Forum is supported by the Friends of
Occupy Portland, an Oregon non-profit corporation, it is
independent of the Occupy organization and does not necessarily
endorse or support positions put forth by various Occupy-related
groups.
