Kingdom of Themiscyra

The Kingdom of Themiscyra often talked of in mythology, descended from Persians

and Greeks. Eventually having five women come to the power of the small nation,
fighting Romans here and there. Enduring a great earth quake that would separate
the Kingdom from what would be Turkey and Armenia, becoming the Pontus Atoll.

Military

Army

- The bulk of the military, the Army the largest force with armed forces.
They are charged with capturing and holding territory. The Army is heavily
armed, and is often in the thick of battle.

Air Force

- Responsible for protecting Air and Space, offensive and defensive the TAF
is often the most advanced of all the armed forces within the nation.
Integrates itself with other members of the military to provide the best.

Navy

- Protecting the seas surrounding the island nation, above surface and
below. In part of the millennia old joint operations with Atlantis Naval
Forces, the Navy often cruises beyond the nation’s waters in efforts to
maintain awareness of the small nation.

Marines

- Warriors, the most elite of the armed forces, the smallest branch of the
military but the mightiest, light weight and mobile. The marines always
lead the charge into battle, providing infantry for the Navy when needed.

Elite Forces

The Elite Forces, the best of the best are chosen from each branch trained with
advanced knowledge and combat techniques it is their job to ensure the interests of
the Nation is protected and defended before any real battle comes to the island
nation.

Covert Operations

Covert Operations, not something you turn down, often ranked with America’s Delta
Force and CIA, TCO operates on both intelligence and covert operations. Members
of TCO typically do not have family and are the most elite in their chosen field.

Honor Guards
Honor Guards, these chosen few guard the tombs, palaces and the heart of the
nation ensuring no harm comes to these properties and souls. Not just anyone can
simply be in the honor guard, you must prove your worth through extensive training
and only the best are selected.

Geography

One of the oldest nations on Earth, founded in 480 BCE; founded by Amazonian
Sisters fleeing the destruction of their home the City-State of Themiscrya, arriving in
what would be modern day north east Turkey, referred to then as Pontus.
Throughout time, the geography of the region changed, a great earth quake
separated Pontus, and what is now the Pontus Plate moved, drifting over the years
into the Black Sea.

The Founding Amazonian Sisters

Daughters of Otrera, rumored to be fathered by Ares. Otrera to her dying day

denied such claims; much to her chagrin Ares would often boast he had five warrior
daughters by Otrera. It would be revealed, this was not the case. The Daughters of
Otrera descend from Daniel, the prophet of the Hebrews, in Ares foolishness, God
humiliated Ares with this revelation in front of all on Mount Olympus. The sisters
were made immortal to bear witness to the world of Man.

Five Queens & City-States

The sisters split the Pontus Atoll into five regions, and each would rule as Queen,
electing one in times of war, to rule over all. So it would come to pass, to the North,
Penthesilea she would rule the city state of Euxine, to the East, Antiope would rule
Trapezus, in the West, Melanippe would command Amasia, to the South, Quintus
would have Cappadocia, in the center Hippolyta would rule Pontus.

Unity & the Capital

Themiscyran Nation, united in the capital of Thalestris. Where Hippolyta rules her
city-state, and often times the nation itself, it is here that the council of Elders,
consisting of various ‘Amazonian’ sisters. It is asked, how often is Themiscyra
united the answer is, during times of war and in peace times for ceremonial or
electoral purposes.

By the late sixteenth century, the Queens turned to becoming a constitutional

monarchy, the people choose a governor for their city states, even though the
Queens do have final say on any law or action passed. In total, there are five
capitals, with Thalestris ruling them all.
