Identify the issue the text

The issue that the author tries to deliver is the misconception of George Biersons
article which is marijuana, the deceptive drug that has been published by
Massachusetts News. According to author, Biersons article conclude that Marijuana is
very dangerous and harmful in many ways including brain damage, reproductive system
failure and weakening our immune system. Author claims that Biersons article is a
seeking facts to support on already assumed conclusion and his experiment does not
reach an exact conclusion.

B. Identify authors point of view in a text

The author complaining on Biersons strongest supporting facts in his article
regarding the Health test that has been conducted towards a monkey which make Bierson
jump to a conclusion by saying that marijuana give a failure to the brain. Bierson not
prepared and mention that the test sample was given extremely high doses and the test
sample size was too small which questioned the authors mind the effect on other test
sample instead of monkey. The author disbelief getting stronger when another studies of
people who are extremely marijuana smokers shown no any symptom of brain damage.
C. Recognize the types of supporting details in a text as well as any flaws in
reasoning if any

The author insist by showing the studies on the human reproductive system and
immune system towards marijuana also failed to give adverse effect according to
Biersons article and the Author claims that the experiment has conducted nearly fatal
doses on mice but not human.

D. Evaluate the support use in a text.

The support since relevant because the Author stressed on the statement of marijuana
as gateway drug which is invalid because in Holland marijuana has already been
decriminalizes since 1970s and the statistic shows the number of cocaine and heroin
outlaws are decreasing all over the years which this statement is against Biersons article
that saying marijuana is gateway drug. The article is subjective since the author say the
marijuana users not only physically addictive, but also psychologically addictive based
on type of human neurology. The argument is complete since the author shows inclusion
and strong statistic based on marijuana users which deviated from Biersons article. The
author arguments are most likely valid since the author shows many relevant and
supportive details to support authors facts on marijuana which adverse of Biersons
articles.

E. inferences and conclusion

The author is argue with the, George Bierson who state the "Marijuana, the Deceptive
Drug", was published by the Massachusetts News. Bierson concludes that marijuana is
harmful in many ways, including brain damage, damage to the reproductive system, and
weakening of the immune system. The author also state that there are fallacy about
Marijuana among us. He also attempts to convince the reader that marijuana is a
"gateway drug" that leads the users to venture into much harder drugs. The author is not
satisfy with the statement made by George Bierson with show some facts that drug is not
really harmful to human. He also said that George statement is not relevant because the
result is based on invalid experiment.
The conclusion is the Marijuana is not the harmful drug to us and also is harmless to us.
This is shows by the author with the reasons about the brain damage and the reproductive
system, several studies of the effects of marijuana on the human reproductive and
immune systems have failed to demonstrate adverse effects. The author make his
conclusion strong with said that most people who use marijuana most often quit on their

own before the age of 34.However,he also stated that one this is true of just about
anything that can give one pleasure, such as chocolate, gambling, or shopping. No
substance will be safe for everybody, under all circumstances, or when used in excessive
amounts can become psychologically addicted. The term harmless is supported by his
statement
H. Identify the an author purpose
This author is try to persuade us on the fallacy about the Marijuana. The author strictly
deny what have been stated by George Biersons "Marijuana, the Deceptive Drug",All the
bad reasons given by Bierson on Marijuana is clearly denied by author. One example is
Bierson conclude that marijuana is harmful in many ways, including brain damage,
damage to the reproductive system, and weakening of the immune system. But the author
said otherwise. More current studies of people who are heavy marijuana smokers show
no evidence of brain damage; in addition, the American Medical Association has
officially endorsed the decriminalization of marijuana.
I.

Determine an author tone

The authors tone is serious. He argue and clearly support his argument with what have
been said by George Bierson who state the "Marijuana, the Deceptive Drug. All the
statements concluded by the Bierson is not relevant and clear. However, at the end of his
letter, he stated that Marijuana is not 'harmless' and conclude all things in the world will
become dangerous to us if we do not manage it with care.

F. .identify the stated main main ideas and/or formulated the implied main ideas
The main idea is to clear about the fallacy on Marijuana. All the statement made by
Bierson is wrong to him and it is not valid at all. But,in his letter,he said it is not a proper
statement to claim that marijuana is "harmless" either. Even though the properties of

marijuana have shown not to be physically addictive, one can become psychologically
addicted. However, this is true of just about anything that can give one pleasure, such as
chocolate, gambling, or shopping. No substance will be safe for everybody, under all
circumstances, or when used in excessive amounts. For example, over-the-counter
medications can be deadly for those who are allergic or who overdose. On the other hand,
marijuana overdose has never been a sole reported cause of death: the amount of
cannabinoids required to have a lethal effect are more than 40,000 times the necessary
dosage for intoxication, making it highly unlikely that a person would be able to or could
be able to achieve such a concentrated amount in their bloodstream.
