SKF TMJG 100D

High Precision Digital Gauge

Instructions for use
1. Application
The high precision digital gauge TMJG 100D has been specially
designed to accurately measure the hydraulic pressure when mounting
bearings with the SKF Drive-up program.
The gauge is also suitable for other applications where the pressure has
to be determined with a high accuracy up to pressures of 100 MPa.
2. Description
The TMJG 100D uses the principle of a piezo-electric element which
generates a pressure related voltage.
This signal is converted by the electronics of the instrument into a digital
read out.
The unit is equipped with a special peak function for the possibility of
measuring very sudden pressure peaks.
It fits the SKF pumps 729124, TMJL 50 and TMJL 100 but can also be
connected directly to an SKF hydraulic nut type HMV.

4. Operating instructions
1. Screw the gauge into the pressure port.
2. Adjust the face of the gauge to the preferred position by loosening
the counter-nut (fig. 1) between the housing and the shaft.
3. Turn the dial of the gauge to the preferred position (fig.2). The dial
can be rotated over 355.
4. Switch the unit ON by pressing the ON/OFF button.
5. The unit is switched off by pressing the ON/OFF button once more or
automatically after 10 minutes of use.

6. To facilitate measurements of sudden pressure peaks the units is
supplied with a special PEAK function. The exact function of the
PEAK function is explained in fig. 3. The PEAK function is confirmed
on the display.
Note
1. Due to internal signal noise the peak reading at zero pressure will be
around 2 MPa.
2. If the maximum pressure of 100 MPa exceeded the figure 1 will be
shown on the left hand side of the display.
WARNING!
For safety reasons never apply pressures above 100 MPa.
5. Maintenance
Replace the battery as soon as Battery low is displayed on the gauge.
The instrument is then opened by simply turning the dial face beyond
the limit stop.
