re'ister CI&D and a data re'ister CD&D.
4he I& stores instruction codes8 such as dis!lay clear and cursor shift8 and address information for
dis!lay data &#M CDD&#MD and character 'enerator CCG&#MD. 4he I& can only $e written from the
MPQ. 4he D& tem!orarily stores data to $e written or read from DD&#M or CG&#M. >hen address
information is written into the I&8 then data is stored into the D& from DD&#M or CG&#M. 0y the
re'ister selector C&D si'nal8 these two re'isters can $e selected.
