The mobile drilling rig is intended to be used for drilling oil and gas wells down
to a depth of 2,500 (8,200 ft) to 3,500 m (11,480 ft) by making use of 4. in or 5 in drill pipes and
for a hook load limit of 175 mton (393,400 lbs). The said rig is equipped with d.c. electric motors
that are supplied from an electric power station and operated by a SCR type control system.
The mobile drilling rig uses the conventional drilling method that implies drilling
either by the rotary table or by a down hole motor; it performs the following drilling jobs:
drilling of well holes;
handling of casing and drill strings;
removal of any troubles and damages, which might occur at the well site;
conditioning, cleaning and circulation of the drilling mud;
performance of the auxiliary jobs afferent to the well drilling and casing processes.

The main components of the mobile drilling rig (Diesel electric operation)
are mounted on trailers, as follows:
draw works drive unit and draw works;
mast;
substructure.
The remaining rig subassemblies, such as: the rotary table drive unit, the draw works drive unit
elevation, the pipe rack, the slope, the unitized pumps, the mud system, the fuel supply unit,
the electric power generating sets, the air conditioning unit, the hydrostatic station, the electric
system, the huts, etc. are transported by use of some conventional transport means belonging
to the customer. The drilling rig is equipped with 2 (two) 3 PN-1000L-EC unitized pumps, each one
being operated by 1 (one) d.c. electric motor.
The mobile drilling rig is equipped with a stand-by CAT 3406 or CAT C15 electric
power generating set with a Diesel engine starting by means of a battery. That unit will provide
alternative current for the following to be performed: operation of the electric compressors,
the electric motor of the DAAS-type automatic bit feed device and other consumers during
the installation period afferent to the drilling rig; operation of the electric compressors that deliver
the compressed air necessary to feed the start-up system of the prime electric power generating
sets; lighting and supply of the auxiliary consumers that shall be kept under operational conditions
in special cases, namely organizational work stops of the respective well.
The MU 200 mast consists of 3 telescopic sections, its cross section being U-shaped. The mast
is transported as retrieved on its own trailer. Telescoping the mast is horizontally performed by
means of the trailer. This operation is performed with the mast put on the trailer and hinged
to the hinges existing on the working floor. Tilting the mast to bring it to its working position
is performed by pushing and raising the mast by means of 2 hydraulic cylinders.
The substructure is tiltable monoblock parallelograms. Tilting the substructure to bring it
to its working position is performed by means of the hydraulic cylinders. The substructure
is transported as folded on its own trailer.
