Before we get into thick of things, I would like to add a few words of
appreciation for the people who have been a part of this project right from its
inception. The writing of this project has been one of the significant academic
challenges I have faced and without the support, patience, and guidance of the
people involved, this task would not have been completed. It is to them owe my
deepest gratitude.
It gives me an immense pleasure in presenting report on Public sector
banks V/S Private sector banks in India. Success of this project is a result of
the hardwork and determination put by me with the help of my project guide. I
hereby take this opportunity to add a special note of thanks for Mrs. Mitali
mam, who undertook to act as my mentor despite her other academic and
professional commitments without her insight, support & energy this project
wouldnt have kick started and neither would have reached fruitfulness.
I also feel heartiest sense of obligation to my parents and other than that
those who have helped me in collection of data and resource material and also
in its processing as well as in drafting manuscript. The project is dedicated to all
those people who helped me to make this project.




Executive summary:
The topic Public sector banks V/S Private sector banks was taken to
collect general view of people with help of questionnaire to know which banks
they fill convenient and safe to invest.
In this project concept of banking definition, introduction and types of
banks. Introduction &history of public as well as private banks. Merits &
demerits of both the bank. Are conducted to know which banks people prefer to
invest public banks or private banks. On basis of which present and future
review such as problems and challenges to be faced for the survival of bank
have been considered.
As being rightly said there are two sides of a coin, the same applies to
the banking sector. Both the sector public as well as thr private has their
advantages as well as limitations.
Research methodology used is data gathered from banking text books,
survey conducted using questionnaires, data downloaded from internet
{wikipedia}.
The objective behind taking up this project was to take a look which
sector banks are performing better public sector or private sector to have a
healthy economy in India.




OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
This study has been conducted with a variety of important objectives in
mind. The following provides us with the chief objectives that have tried to
achieve through the study. The extent to which these objectives have been met
could judge from the conclusions and suggestions, which appear in the later of
this study.

The Chief Objectives of this study are:
1. To find the bank sector that is largely availed by the customer.
2. To study the factors the factors influencing the choice of a bank for
availing services.
3. To find and compare the satisfaction level of customers in public sector
as well as in private sectors bank.
4. To study the problem faced by customer.
5. To get suggestions for improvement or change in the services of public
and private sector banks.
6. To study what do people expect in the new era of banking.
