Home Connection: : Please read daily with your child .

. Ask your child about what he/she liked about the story
you read. Ask your child to show you the front cover, back cover and title page in a book. You can also help
your child create different 2D shapes using different materials like crayons, play dough, marshmallows, etc.

Literacy Inquiry:
- We are reading great books: Rainbow Fish, What are friends for?, and The best of friends.
- We are identifying what is a Front cover, back cover and title page in books.
- We are discussing the role of illustrator and how illustrations help in predicting the story through
activities like picture walks and using the title page and front cover of a book to predict the story.
- Activities include: Creating our own Rainbow fish, exploring with the formation of the letter F and
many more fun activities.
Dear Parents,
Hope everyone had a wonderful relaxing weekend. Below are some of the things we will be doing this
week. Lets have fun learning :)
Unit of Inquiry:
Who We Are Central Idea: Friendship reflect who we are and enrich our lives.
Learner Profile: we are learning the thinker and communicator songs to help the kids understand the
meaning of each learner profile attribute.
-Activities include : We will be reading books about friendship and discussing the importance of
friends in our lives.
Show and Tell: This Thursday we are
sharing things starting with letter F
or a picture of your friend. STAR OF THE

This week we will be learning about Friends.
Math Inquiry:
-We will continue learning about different 2D shapes (rectangle, oval, square, circle and triangle.)
-We will be working on duplicating and extending simple patterns using concrete objects.
-Activities include: listening to 2D shapes songs, and creating our 2D shapes monsters and many more
fun activities.
Important Information:
Kindly note that there will be NO SCHOOL
on October 28th & 29th due to the presence
of all teachers in the IB Professional devel-
opment workshop day.
October 30th: Dress down (please no
costumes)
