Putin accuses US of universal diktat on global affairs

Russian President Vladimir Putin has criticised the US for what he called its universal diktat on
global affairs. His pronouncements came at the annual Valdai discussion club which unites Russian
officials and experts. He also blamed the West for the conflict in Ukraine and denied accusations
of empire building. Nobody wanted to listen to us and talk to us, began Putin. They (USA / EU)
told us thats not of your business. This was the discussion. Instead of a comprehensive and
civilised dialogue, they took the case until the coup threw the country in the chaos, which led to
the destruction of the economy and the social sphere, with a civil war and and enormous number
of victims. Putin went on to say that Russia would not beg to remove EU-US sanctions imposed in
response to the crisis in Ukraine, and would seek to strengthen links with its partners in the East.
He also called for talks internationally-recognised conditions for use of force. Throughout the
speech he lashed out at the United States as the so-called victors of the Cold War, accusing them
of playing a role in sponsoring Islamic extremism. He cited the example of Washingtons funding of
the Mujaheddin in the Afghan-Soviet war, saying Americas weapons were then turned against
them with the growth of the Taliban and Al Qaeda. The speech, heavy with Cold War references,
included some of the leaders most fierce anti-West rhetoric since he came to power.

la gopolitique. Le chef du Kremlin a dnonc la tentation hgmonique qui serait celle, ses yeux, des

voulu nous couter. On nous a fait comprendre que ce ntait pas notre affaire. A la place dun dialogue
civilis, on a assist un coup dEtat. Cela a plong le pays dans le chaos, avec la destruction de lconomie,
les ravages dans la socit, avec une guerre civile qui a fait un nombre norme de victimes. La Russie est
accuse par Kiev et par les Occidentaux dentretenir linsurrection dans lest de lUkraine. Des sanctions
conomiques ont t adoptes pour faire pression sur Moscou. Vladimir Poutine a estim que ces
sanctions sapaient les fondements du commerce international.

Putin fordert neue Regeln fr die Weltordnung

Russland versuche nicht, ein altes Imperium wieder auferstehen zu lassen. Das sagte Prsident Wladimir
Putin auf einer Konferenz in Sotschi. Die Weltordnung nach dem kalten Krieg sei aber nicht ausgewogen.
Deshalb gebe es derzeit zwar keine globalen Konflikte wie einst, aber globale Spannungen und das Risiko
eines neuen Rstungswettlaufs, so Putin. Erneute bezichtigte Putin den Westen, die Ukrainekrise ausgelst
zu haben. Niemand wollte uns zuhren oder mit uns reden. Sie sagten, das sei nicht unsere Sache. Statt
eines umfassenden und zivilisierten Dialoges trieben sie es bis zu einem Coup, strzten das Land ins Chaos,
mit einem gestrten Wirtschaft und ffentlichkeit, mit einem Brgerkrieg und einer enormen Zahl an
Opfern. Putin kritisierte auerdem willkrliche Einmischungen in die internen Angelegenheiten anderer
Lndern und forderte die Definition international akzeptabler Bedingungen fr militrische Interventionen.
Das Thema der Konferenz in Sotschi war Weltordnung: Neue Regeln oder ein Spiel ohne Regeln? Die
sogenannten Valdai-Diskussionsrunden werden seit 2004 an verschiedenen Orten in Russland abgehalten.
Rund 600 internationale Experten und Politiker nahmen seither daran teil dieses Jahr unter anderem der
ehemalige franzsische Regierungschef Dominique de Villepin.

Ucrania

Vladimir Putin culpa a Estados Unidos de haber hecho del mundo un lugar ms peligroso y catico. En su
discurso en el Club Valdai, un foro de anlisis de la actualidad rusa celebrado en la localidad de Sochi, el
lder del Kremlin ha acusado a Washington de imponer su poltica unilateral a aliados y rivales. Y de
provocar junto a la Unin Europea, entre otras muchas, la crisis ucraniana. Nadie quiso escucharnos ni
hablar con nosotros. Estados Unidos y la UE nos dijeron que no era asunto nuestro. En lugar de un dilogo
amplio y civilizado, llevaron el tema hasta el golpe de Estado, sumieron al pas en el caos, provocando
daos a nivel econmico y social, y una guerra civil con un enorme nmero de vctimas. El presidente ruso
asegur que nunca mendigaran el fin de las sanciones. Desplegando una retrica propia de la Guerra Fra,
responsabiliz a Estados Unidos de crear el extremismo islmico que se les volvera en contra el 11 de
septiembre.Tambin propuso un nuevo consenso global que regule la intervencin de los pases en los
asuntos internos de otro.
