Chartiers Creek Watershed, Washington County portion, spans over twentytwo municipalities in Washington County, PA.

They are; Washington City, East Washington, Canonsburg, Bethel Park, Green Hills and Houston
Boroughs, Amwell, Buffalo, Canton, Cecil, Chartiers, Hopewell, Mount Pleasant, North Bethlehem, North Franklin, North Strabane, Peters, South Fayette, South Franklin, South Strabane, Somerset and Upper St. Claire

Townships. Two longwall mining complexes operate beneath the Chartiers Creek watershed, Washington County portion. They are the Maple Creek mining complex, with 2 panels beneath the watershed, and the Mine 84
complex, with portion of 44 panels beneath the watershed. Approximately 4.8% of the watershed is undermined by longwall panels. Approximately 70 stream miles out of 321 stream miles are in nonattainment (~22%).
