Rebar Release Manager

1. Purpose and description
The Rebar Release Manger is a sorting, grouping, and exporting tool speciic to rebar
detailing! The tool "ill allo" users to group single bars and bar groups into releases that can
be exported to a#a, #oule, !cs$ or !ts$! This tool "ill also lock bars in the %odel that ha$e
been released so they cannot be edited once the released has been sent! The tool "ill allo"s
users to add inor%ation such as &ob '( or #oule and a#a i%port!

To install the application,

6! (rag and dock the ne" toolbar
4. Usage
To use the plugins,
1! /aunch Rebar Release Manager! )ote that all rebar in the %odel "ill be loaded
into the interace!
2! #ort and assign releases ro% "ithin the interace!
4.1. User Interface

.nassigned Reinorce%ent section

the dialog box
5ide6#ho" Release 8roperties, This "ill either hide or sho" the properties o each
release that you select in the dialog box
4l"ays #tay 3n Top, This "ill keep the dialog box on top o other applications
3ptions, This "ill either hide6sho" the unassigned rebar and open the options dialog
box or %ore settings
*xport, This allo"s you to select the export that you "ant 0!C#9, a#a, #oule or !T#91
)e" Release, This creates a ne" release ro% the bars that you ha$e selected in the
%odel
Re%o$e Release, This "ill re%o$e a ne" release that you ha$e selected in the dialog
box
#tatus Representation, This "ill color the release based on the grade or status o
each release! The #tatus o the release are 4ssigned : Red, Released: ;ello", abricated:
<reen, 8laced:Magenta and )ot 4ssigned to a Release: class color! <rade color is based
on the <rades!x%l that you can set up ro% the options dialog!

4.2. ptions
' the .ser selects the 3ptions icon and then selects 3ptions= another dialog box "ill open
that the .ser can change %ore settings!
The irst options are to chose the "eight unit that is displayed 0ton or lbs6kgs1,
su%%ary "eight deci%al spaces 0deault is 31 and su%%ary length rounding 0i%perial
only, deault is >?1
<rade, This option allo"s the user to set the color o each bar based on the grade so
"hen the user selects to color by grade, the correct color "ill sho"! The coating
option allo"s the user to set the initial or epoxy, gal$ani@ed, etc that it "ill be
included in the export ile!
Release, The .ser can set a %ax load "eight or a release 0deault is 20001, turn on
or o a pro%pt "hen bars are added or re%o$ed and the deault ile path "hen a
release is exported!

*xport, The .ser can add headings or additional inor%ation that can be exported
"ith the !T#9 or !C#9 iles
9ie", The .ser can set "hat inor%ation that they "ish to see in the headings or the
7ar /ist release "indo" and the 7ent 7ar release "indo"!
4.3. Unassigned Reinforcements
*$ery ti%e the Rebar Release Manager is reopened or the Reresh icon is clicked, the
application "ill reresh to any ne" bars that ha$e been added! 4ll bars "ill irst appear under
the .nassigned Reinorce%ents! This has been split up to sho" Rebar <roups and #ingle
7ars! The end result is to ha$e @ero bars let in this section so all bars ha$e been assigned to
a release!

4.4. !reating Releases
' the user "ould like to create releases or abrication, they "ill need to irst select the bars in
the %odel that they "ill "ish to create a release or! Then select A.nassigned Releases? and
rightBclickC Create From Selected. Make sure that you ha$e A#elect 3bDects in Co%ponents?
selected because you cannot add co%ponents to releases! )o" a dialog box "ill pop up and
you can assign the release a 8reix or #uix! The 8reix has a dropBdo"n that "ill all the
.ser to easily select a release to add too! ' you create a release that is o$er the set "eight in
the 3ptions, in your properties pane it "ill say Exceeded weight = True!

The .ser can continue to group and create releases ro% the %odel until all bars ha$e been
assigned to a release! ' you chose to add bars to an existing release, the irst "ill be 100,
second 200, etc!

4.". Release Properties
The .ser can select each release, rightBclick and set the grade and status o each release!

4ssign to (ra"ing, This "ill allo" the user to set "hich releases are associated to a
dra"ing! 3n a slab dra"ing, you %ight ha$e releases 44400200 and 77700300!
4dd selected, This allo"s the user to add %ore bars to a release that are selected in
the %odel
Re%o$e selected, This allo"s the user to re%o$e bars that are selected in the %odel
ro% the release!
(elete, This "ill delete the release!

Rena%e, This "ill allo" the user to rena%e the release!
Release #tatus, This allo"s the user to set the status o the release! The options are
.nassigned, 4ssigned, Released, +abricated and 8laced! 3nce a release is set to
released, abricated or placed= this "ill lock the release and the bars in the %odel!
This pre$ents bars that ha$e been released to be %odiied! This option also colors
the bars ro% the #tatus Representation icon!

#et <rade, This reads the <rade!x%l that the .ser sets in the options icon! This
allo"s the bars to be colored by grade in the %odel!
8roperties, This allo"s the user to set inor%ation or export to #oule and a#a! The
red text or #oule is reEuired inor%ation!

The Rebar Release Manager "ill only recogni@e reinorcing bars! 't "ill not select concrete
or steel ele%ents= as "ell as bolts, studs, e%beds, etc!
4ll bars "ill be exported e$en i the shape is .nkno"n! ' the shape is .nkno"n, the bar "ill
export but the #hape na%e "ill be blank and it "ill need to be ixed! 8lease check your
Rebar #hape Manager to ix any bars that get an .nkno"n shape!
