For Immediate Release.

Lexington Philharmonic and Local 554-635, American Federation of Musicians Reach Agreement on Contract

The Lexington Philharmonic and Local 554-635 of the American Federation of Musicians announce that they will sign an
agreement for a multi-year Master Agreement, from September 20, 2014 through June 30, 2018, at 6:30pm on
September 19, 2014 at the Singletary Center for the Arts, Lexington, KY.

Representatives from both sides have been committed to building a greater understanding of the others concerns via a
recent round of negotiations that began in April 2014 and culminated in successful ratification votes by each party earlier
this week. We have an agreement that will allow us to move forward and continue the great work LexPhil does in this
region stated Scott King, President of the Lexington Philharmonic Society Board of Directors.

Joe McGrannahan, President of the Lexington Musicians Association, Local 554-635, American Federation of Musicians
stated, We are pleased and excited that the new Collective Bargaining Agreement has been finalized. We wish to thank
the members of the Lexington Philharmonic Board for their professionalism during the negotiations. We also thank the
Orchestra Committee, headed by Dave Shelton, lead negotiator, as well as the American Federation of Musicians, for
their tireless efforts in pursuing a fair contract

Mike McNalley, President Elect of the Lexington Philharmonic Society Board of Directors stated The negotiations have
brought greater clarity to the process and intentions of several important areas of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
and this is now reflected in the new agreement.

Dave Shelton, General/Business Manager of AFM Local 554-635, stated, While the negotiating process was long and
often difficult, it is the collective hope of the musicians and management that our beloved orchestra and the relationships
that help fashion it are stronger than before. We further hope that countless hours spent discussing our ambitions and
concerns regarding the Lexington Philharmonic and the incredible musicians that comprise it will result in a productive
dialogue for many years to come.

Compared to the agreement that ended on June 30, 2014, the new agreement provides certain guaranteed services to
the member musicians of the Lexington Philharmonic accompanied by a minimum attendance policy. A modest increase
in the wage scale and stepped increase in mileage reimbursement was also agreed. Procedures for Auditions, Peer
Review, Substitute engagement and electronic media have been clarified.

We are very pleased to make this announcement as we open our 2014-2015 season and look forward to an artistically
exciting and strategically productive new season stated King.
