attend a concert celebration in October.
The new branch is just one way we’re making AMPLIFY more accessible. Time after
time when we’ve asked what you appreciate about AMPLIFY, you’ve told us it’s our
convenience. I want you to know we listen to you, and the decisions we make as a credit
union are always based on adding value and offering solutions.
Our small business members told us they’re stretched too thin to come to our branches
and make commercial deposits. We set up remote deposit, so funds can be credited
electronically and the deposit can be mailed or dropped off when it’s convenient. We’re
evaluating making a similar service available for all our members.

What’s the big deal about mobile banking?
AMPLIFY started offering mobile banking more than a year ago and is seen today
as a leader in the industry. Karen Pollack, Amplify’s VP of Operations, recently
spoke at a national webinar targeted toward financial institutions which are still
evaluating this technology.
There are two reasons AMPLIFY is so far ahead of the pack when it comes to
mobile banking. First of all, given that our heritage is IBM, members have always
expected us to lead the way when it comes to technological innovations.
Secondly, we really believe in our motto: Bank Less. Live More. Mobile banking
is truly the most convenient way to take care of almost any financial transaction.
You may be thinking, “So I can bank from my cell phone. What’s the big deal?”
The big deal is that mobile banking enables you to have even more immediate
access to your accounts. Here’s an example:
You’re on a business trip. On the way to the hotel, you realize you’ve forgotten to
make your car payment. You could wait until you get to the hotel, get your laptop
out (if you have it with you), most likely pay for internet access, turn on your
laptop, log in, and make the payment.
Or you could take your cell phone or PDA out of your pocket, log in to mobile.
goamplify.com, and take care of the payment while you’re still in the taxi.
Which solution is easier and takes less time? No contest.
While using mobile banking, you can set up future payments so you’d never have
to worry about missing the due date for a bill again. You can even set up an alert

are viewing this as a means to prevent customers from switching their cell phone
service to a different company. They think the inconvenience of having to use a
different application will discourage you from leaving and make you more likely to
sign up for another two-year contract with them.
What’s next for mobile banking? Well, your cell phone could one day replace your
debit card, your cash, and your checks. Technology is currently being developed
to enable mobile banking users to make payments simply by holding their cell
phones to a terminal rather than swiping a debit or credit card. This same
technology will allow peer-to-peer payments for a few cents per transaction. That
means you’ll be able to send money to others right from your cell phone – no
cash or checks needed! Industry leaders estimate that by the year 2012 – only
five years from now – most cell phones will be equipped with this capability.

is tentatively scheduled to open in early September, and will
