How do you feel when you
are writing?
Attitude
! Summary:
! Most of the
students in the
class likes writing
and they usually
feel happy or
excited when they
write.
! Analysis:
! 88% of the class
agreed that they feel
happy or excited when
writing therefore I can
conclude that my MT
and I can incorporate
more writing in the
lessons.
! The 12% of the class
that doesnt enjoy
writing also pointed
that they either get sad
or mad when writing.
Attitude
! Implementation:
! For the students that doesnt enjoy writing, they need
that motivation for them to like writing.
! An example action that helps motivate students would
be to create a writing assignment that gets the students
excited therefore change their attitude towards writing.
! To keep that positive attitude that the class have, I want
to create lessons that are engaging so that they dont
change their attitude towards writing.
! I will need to work with my MT in order to create these
lessons that are motivating and also meet the
standards.

Interest
! Summary:
! The class interest
varies from the five
different categories
given.
! Most of the class
prefers to write about
real stories.
! 11 students like to
write at home, 6 at
the library and 9 at
school.
! Analysis:
! More than half of the
class prefers writing
about their family and
friends.
! Since majority of the
class prefers real stories,
it shows that they like to
write about their
experiences.
! The data shows that
many students write not
only in school but at
home as well.
Interest
! Implementation:
! Based on the results, I need to incorporate different
topics when it comes to writing assignments to meet all
the needs of my students.
! My writing assignments should include students writing
about what they have experienced in real life so it is
more relevant to them and they can enjoy it more.
! Since students do a lot of writing at home, I can
incorporate my lessons to have a homework section to
practice more writing.
! I will need my MT help in picking topics that are
appropriate and that is aligned with their standards
and benchmarks.

Learning Style
! Summary
! Half of the class likes
sharing their writing to
others while the other
half feels nervous or
doesnt like sharing
their writing.
! Most of the class
prefers writing in a
quiet environment.
! Analysis
! From the data, it shows
that even though the
students like writing
doesnt mean that they
would enjoy sharing it to
others without feeling
nervous.
! None of the students
said that they feel
comfortable writing in a
loud environment.
Learning Style
! Implementation
! From the data, I can see that a lot of students feel
nervous when sharing their work so to help them feel
more comfortable with sharing, I will have students share
with their side by side partner first then gradually make
the sharing group bigger so it is an easier transition for
them to build their confidence.
! Since most of the class prefers writing in a more quiet
environment than a loud surroundings, when doing
writing lessons I will make sure that the class is quiet and
that there are no distracting sounds so that they are
able to concentrate on their work.
! There is always a student that disrupts the class, so in
order to keep the peace in the classroom, I will ask my
MT to teach me how to create more authority in the
classroom so that students listen to me.

When you write what do
you do first?
Work Habits
! Summary:
! The first thing that the
students do when they
write is put their name
while others think of the
ideas that they want to
write about or get their
materials ready.
! Some students
responses were illegible.
! Majority of the class likes
to draw when they are
writing.
! Analysis
! Most of the students
have a good habit of
writing their name on
their paper first because
in their class it is their
routine.
! Other students plan out
their writing by thinking
of the ideas first which is
good.
! From the data, it shows
that the students draw
to help them with their
writing.
Work Habits
! Implementation
! I will have students get to know brainstorming
outlines to help them with their ideas therefore
make their writing easier.
! Since most of the students enjoy drawing, I will
incorporate art in writing in order to help the
students get their ideas flowing.
! In order to integrate art in the writing process, I will
need my MT help because it has to meet both art
and writing standards and thats a little bit hard to
me.

Conclusion
! After gathering data from this student
survey, I gained more knowledge about the
students that I am working with. I am more
aware of their attitude, interest, learning
styles and work habits towards writing.
These information will assist me in creating
lessons that meets the students needs.
Accommodating all my students needs will
help produce a good quality work from the
students.
