The idea of "Tower" is inseparable from the idea
of a vertical city. The race between countries and cities to con-
struct the highest structure is a challenge of pride and power.
Technological advances allow for the construction of super-tall
buildings - the higher the structure, lesserthe footprint, and the
harder the engineering challenge becomes.
In the contemporary urban context, the available
land for building commercial, retail and housing space isat a pre-
mium. Increasingly, mixed-use, high rise developments are per-
ceived as a practical and sustainable way to optimize land use
while creating dynamic new urban communities.

DDDDDD EVOLUTION OF THE DESIGN
During a long journey I and in the memories of it I

some important element gets ignored or forgotten. not inten-

tionally of course
I I but better technologies drown them in for-
getfullness. similarly many a trivial appliance gets ignored in
I

the history of construction in the euphoria that we have with

the plentiful building paraphernalia that we possess today.Of
the few appliances that have still not been forgotten over the
ages is the WHEEL BARROW, though the role it has played is
often brushed under the carpet. It can be stated with little or
no doubt that the wheel barrow has contributed as much as
the best equipment used in building the greatest monuments of
the world.
The wheel barrow was possibly invented during the
construction of the great wall of china. A bulk of the walls con-
struction materiels was transported by what the Chinese called
a "wooden ox" or a "gliding horse". The wheel barrow helped
build the great wall of china which is 5500 km long and 20 feet
wide and 20 feet tall. Perhaps the bulkiest building ever con-
ceived by man

THE BARROWS RECREATION FLOOR
The top most level of the barrows is a dedi-
cated space for recreation. this space is aesthetical-
ly lit by a pyramidal skylight right above the roof.
this space houses various recreation facilities like
billiards/snooker, cards, reading spaces, chess and
carrom board etc. a dedicated space for yoga is
also alloted in this floor

SECONDARY OFFICE FLOOR

This space in the barrows is for lower officials
or temporary staff. It houses few conference rooms
and ample workstation space for additional mem-
bers of the office in case of an expansion in the team.
this level houses a beautiful garden space which can
be used by the residents of this building during their
time-outs. The exterior space is designed with patio
like furniture and fountain features

PRIMARY OFFICE FLOOR

This is the core space of the barrows. with
the largest floor plate amongst the other floors in this
building, the primary office space can house upto
35+ working spaces which also includes individual
reception desks and workstation modules. this floor
also houses conference rooms for daily meetings

MANAGEMENT FLOOR
The first floor of the barrows houses the
rooms for the department heads managers and
I

other higher officials, this floor also houses 2 lec-

ture halls of 30 people capacity each. a small li-
brary which can seat around 10 people including a

LOBBY FLOOR
The ground floor of the barrows houses a
simple lobby showcasing the usage of steel rang-
ing from structure to furniture. This floor opens
into an auditorium which can seat around hundred
people at a time.

A SIFR IS BORN
Sometimes, an allocated space in
the home is not the best place to work. Sometimes, sit-
ting and working in the same place for long hours
mounts the reigning stress in the mind. Sometimes,
situations arise where it is not easy to work in the work-
place pressure. In case of mothers, pregnant women
and handicapped persons, moving to and from the
workplace is not so easy and it is simpler to work from
home. When such problems arise, it is beneficial to have
a workstation that is capable of changing locations. And
thus, we have SIFR.
