Sensex down by 0.13% @26349.33 pts, and Nifty down 0.26% @7864.00 pts.
European indi. FTSE down by 1.25%, CAC down by 0.55%, and DAX down by
0.48%.
NASDAQ up by 0.32% and Dow Jones were down by 0.04%.
Sensex ends down 0.13 %,nifty down 0.26% :- Equity benchmarks recouped losses in
last couple of hours of trade with the Nifty hitting 7900 level intraday on Tuesday supported by
technology, metals and banking and financial stocks. However, the index fell as much as 34.74 points
intraday to break the 7800 level on lower-than-expected August industrial output data. The index
climbed 20.25 points to close at 7864.25 and the Sensex advanced 34.74 points to 26349.33 following
recovery in global markets. European markets like Frances CAC and Britains FTSE were down 0.3
percent each, and even Dow Jones futures rose 0.04 percent (at 16 hours IST). Back home, the broader
markets also rebounded with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gaining 0.3 percent and 0.5
percent, respectively.
