A team of over 50
students took over
the Novotel in May
2014, catering for
both lunch and
evening meals.
This included the
Enterprise Gala
Dinner, where
150 guests, from
businesses around
the region, enjoyed
a gourmet three
course meal.
Opportunities like
this provide students
with a chance to
put their skills into
practice, experience
different working
environments and make
industry contacts for
the future.

Weve established some great links with
local prestigious restaurants including
Hermitage Road Bar and Restaurant in
Hitchin and The Fox in Willian.
Harry Kodagoda, Director of Food for
Anglian Country Inns who run both
restaurants, is very supportive of the
college having been a student himself
at Letchworth Technical College (a
former NHC centre). We have been able
to place numerous students on work
experience within the kitchens of these
two establishments.
One particular success story is Ryan
Panteny, a former level 3 student, who
after undertaking work experience at
Hermitage Road was offered a full-time
position and has since been promoted to
Chef de Partie.
