Littek in Christchurch Friday 26th February 2010. This is a low cost, BYO lunch event!

Celeste has presented several very successful courses in Christchurch.

Understanding the Autistic Spectrum: Implications for Learning

Full day programme including
Making Sense: Introduction to the autism spectrum (including Aspergers), a
different way of thinking, sensing and being in the world
Teaching to Strengths: Practical strategies to help learning, extend interests and
build participation
Sorting challenges: taking a positive approach to behaviour

Who Should Attend:

This course is a suitable introduction for Teachers (Early Childhood, Primary


or Secondary), Teacher Aides/Educational Support Workers, Parents/Carers,
Family/Whanau, and Specialists.

About the Presenter


Celeste is a consultant on Autism Spectrum Disorders, with over 20 years of personal and
professional experience in ASD. She works with families, teachers, schools, professionals and
specialists through developing training courses which best meet the needs of those who
support and care for children who have ASD. She has worked as a regular teacher, an early
intervention teacher, and has co-developed national training programmes for the Ministry of
Education and Autism New Zealand.
