To adjust the handset: 1. Set the handset asi de and pul l the square pl asti c tab from the handset rest. 2. Rotate the tab hal fway. 3. Sl i de the tab back i nto the handset rest. Mute a Call To mute a cal l : Whi l e on a cal l , press the Mute button. The Mute button l i ghts, i ndi cati ng that the other party cannot hear you. To deacti vate the mute functi on, do one of the fol l owi ng: Press the Mute button agai n. Li ft the handset i f you are usi ng mute wi th your speakerphone. Note The Mute feature does not generate musi c or a tone. Manage Call Waiting I f you are on a cal l when a second cal l comes i n, you hear a cal l -wai ti ng tone or see a fl ashi ng i ndi cator l i ght on the handset rest, dependi ng on the confi gurati on of your phone. To answer the new cal l on the same l i ne: 1. Use the Navigation button to sel ect the cal l 2. Press the Answer soft key to answer the cal l . The cal l on the other l i ne i s automati cal l y put on hol d. To return to the ori gi nal cal l : 1. Use the Navigation button to resel ect the cal l . 2. Press the Resume soft key to reconnect to the cal l . For cal l s on a separate l i ne: Press the Line button for the i ncomi ng cal l . Retrieve Voice Messages To retri eve voi ce messages: 1. Sel ect an avai l abl e Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone l i ne by l i fti ng the handset, pressi ng the speakerphone button, or pressi ng a l i ne button. Li sten for the di al tone. 2. Press the Messages button, and fol l ow the voi ce i nstructi ons. 9 Note When you have one or more new messages, the message-wai ti ng i ndi cator (MWI ) on your handset i s l i t. Adjust the Volume for the Current Call To adjust the handset, speakerphone, or headset vol ume for the current cal l : 1. Duri ng a cal l , press the Up or Down Volume button. 2. Press the Save soft key to appl y the new vol ume l evel to future cal l s. Adjust the Ring Volume Press the Up or Down Volume button whi l e the handset i s i n i ts cradl e and the phone i s i dl e. Select the Ring Type To change the ri nger sound: 1. Press the Settings button. 2. Press 2 for Ri ng Type, or use the Navigation button to scrol l to Ri ng Type and press the Select soft key. 3. Di al the extensi on number of the Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone that you want to pi ck up. Control of the cal l i s transferred to your phone. I f onl y one pi ckup group i s defi ned i n the enti re Ci sco Uni fi ed Communi cati ons Manager Express system, control of the cal l i s transferred to your phone. I f the ri ngi ng tel ephone and your phone are i n the same pi ckup group, press the asteri sk (*) to transfer control of the cal l to your phone. I f the ri ngi ng tel ephone and your phone are i n di fferent pi ckup groups, di al the pi ckup group number where the phone i s ri ngi ng to transfer control of the cal l to your phone. Whisper Intercom The Whi sper I ntercom feature al l ows the user to make an i ntercom cal l to a busy extensi on. The reci pi ent can hear the cal l er or hear the whi sper i ntercom, and the ori gi nal cal l er on the recei vi ng phone does not hear the whi sper i ntercom. The phone recei vi ng a whi sper i ntercom di spl ays the extensi on and name of the party i ni ti ati ng the whi sper i ntercom and a zipzip tone i s pl ayed before the cal l ed party hears the cal l er's voi ce. The recei vi ng party must sel ect the i ntercom l i ne button on thei r phone to speak to the cal l er. Note For i ntercom users to know whether the i ntercom i s usi ng one-way or two-way audi o, the l amp for both i ntercom buttons are col ored amber for one-way whi sper i ntercom and green for two-way audi o. To pl ace an i ntercom cal l : Di al the i ntercom di rectory number from your i ntercom l i ne. The i ntercom reci pi ent hears the i ntercom cal l er audi o wi thout answeri ng the cal l . To answer an i ntercom cal l : Press the i ntercom button to tal k to the i ntercom cal l er. To end a whi sper i ntercom cal l : Press Endcall. Place a Priority (Precedence) Call I n some speci al i zed envi ronments, such as mi l i tary or government offi ces, you mi ght need to make and recei ve urgent or cri ti cal cal l s. I f you have the need for thi s speci al i zed cal l handl i ng, your system admi ni strator can add Mul ti l evel Precedence and Preempti on (MLPP) to your phone. Keep these terms i n mi nd: Precedence i ndi cates the pri ori ty associ ated wi th a cal l . Preemption i s the process of endi ng an exi sti ng, l ower pri ori ty cal l whi l e accepti ng a hi gher pri ori ty cal l that i s sent to your phone. Priority Level of an MLPP Call To see the pri ori ty l evel of an MLPP cal l , l ook for an MLPP i con on your phone screen: Pri ori ty cal l Medi um pri ori ty (i mmedi ate) cal l Hi gh pri ori ty (fl ash) cal l Hi ghest pri ori ty (fl ash overri de) or executi ve overri de cal l Hi gher pri ori ty cal l s are di spl ayed at the top of your cal l l i st. I f you do not see an MLPP i con, the pri ori ty l evel of the cal l i s normal (routi ne). Note Contact your system admi ni strator for a l i st of correspondi ng precedence numbers for cal l s. 12 To Make a Priority (Precedence) Call: Enter the MLPP access number (provi ded by your system admi ni strator) fol l owed by the precedence l evel (0-4) and the phone number. Note I f you enter an i nval i d MLPP access number, a verbal announcement al erts you of the error. To Answer an MLPP Call: End an acti ve cal l (i f necessary) and answer the MLPP cal l . I f the acti ve cal l has l ower precedence than the i ncomi ng cal l , the acti ve cal l i s preempted. Tips When you are recei vi ng a pri ori ty (precedence) cal l , an MLPP i con on your phone screen i ndi cates the pri ori ty l evel of the cal l . When you make or recei ve an MLPP-enabl ed cal l , you hear speci al ri ng tones and cal l -wai ti ng tones di fferent from the standard tones. When you or the other party are recei vi ng a cal l that must preempt the current cal l , di sconnect i mmedi atel y to al l ow the hi gher pri ori ty cal l to ri ng through. When you have more than 1 acti ve cal l , the cal l wi th the l owest precedence i s preempted. Si mi l arl y, for outgoi ng cal l s, the cal l wi th l ower precedence i s preempted fi rst. Call-Blocking (Toll Bar) Override Cal l bl ocki ng prevents unauthori zed use of phones. I t i s i mpl emented by matchi ng a pattern of speci fi ed di gi ts duri ng a speci fi ed ti me of day and day of week or date. The cal l -bl ocki ng overri de feature al l ows i ndi vi dual phone users to overri de the predefi ned cal l bl ocki ng. Note Contact your system admi ni strator for your personal i denti fi cati on number (PI N). To pl ace cal l s when cal l -bl ocki ng i s enabl ed: 1. Press the Login soft key on the Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone. 2. Enter the Personal I denti fi cati on Number (PI N) that i s associ ated wi th the phone. Transfer a Call To transfer a sel ected cal l to another number, you can use bl i nd transfer or consul tati ve transfer: Blind Transfer I mmedi atel y redi rects the cal l wi thout al l owi ng you to speak to the transfer reci pi ent (the person to whom you are transferri ng the cal l ). To make a bl i nd transfer cal l : 1. Duri ng a cal l , press the Trnsfer soft key. The cal l i s pl aced on hol d. 2. Di al the number to whi ch you want to transfer the cal l . Consultative Transfer Redi rects the cal l after fi rst al l owi ng you to speak to the transfer reci pi ent. To make a consul tati ve transfer: 1. Duri ng a cal l , press the Trnsfer soft key. The cal l i s pl aced on hol d. 13 2. Di al the number to whi ch you want to transfer the cal l . 3. Wai t for the cal l to be answered. Speak to the transfer reci pi ent. Then press the Trnsfer button or hang up the handset. 4. I f the transfer fai l s, press the Resume soft key to return to the ori gi nal cal l . Transfer to Voice Mail 1. Press TrnsfVM. 2. Enter the reci pi ents extensi on number and press TrnsfVM agai n. Cancel Transfer 1. To cancel your consul tati ve cal l -transfer attempt: Press the EndCall soft key. 2. To reconnect to the ori gi nal cal l er: Press the Resume soft key. Forward All Calls To forward al l i ncomi ng cal l s to another number: 1. Press the CFwdALL soft key. You hear a confi rmati on beep. 2. Di al the number to whi ch you want to forward al l your cal l s. Di al the number exactl y as i f you were pl aci ng a cal l to that number. Remember to i ncl ude l ocal l y requi red prefi x numbers. The phone di spl ay i s updated to show that cal l s wi l l be forwarded. 3. Press the pound key (#) or the EndCall soft key. Note To forward cal l s to voi ce mai l , manual l y enter the voi ce mai l number, or use the CFwdALL soft key pl us the Messages button, fol l owed by the EndCall soft key. To forward cal l s to a speed-di al number, use the CFwdALL soft key pl us a speed-dial button, fol l owed by the EndCall soft key. To cancel cal l forwardi ng: Press the CFwdALL soft key. Place and Establish a Conference Call To create a three-party conference cal l : 1. Duri ng a cal l , press the more soft key and then the Confrn soft key to open a new l i ne and put the fi rst party on hol d. 2. Pl ace a cal l to another number. 3. When the cal l connects, press Confrn agai n to add the new party to the cal l . To establ i sh a conference cal l between two- and three-party cal l s to a Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone, one acti ve and the other on hol d: Press the Confrn soft key on the Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone. To establ i sh a conference cal l between second- and thi rd-party cal l s al ready present on a Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone, usi ng separate l i ne buttons, one acti ve and the other on hol d: 1. Press the Confrn soft key on the Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone. 2. Press the Line button of the cal l you want to add to the conference. Note Your system admi ni strator must have confi gured the system for three-party or ei ght-party ad-hoc conferences. 14 Place a MeetMe Conference Call To Pl ace a MeetMe conference cal l : 1. Obtai n a MeetMe conference number from your system admi ni strator 2. Di stri bute the MeetMe conference number to al l the parti ci pants. 3. Go offhook, press the MeetMe soft key, and di al the MeetMe conference number. Al l other parti ci pants joi n the meeti ng by di al i ng i nto the MeetMe conference number. 4. To end the MeetMe conference cal l , al l parti ci pants must hang up the handset or press the EndCall soft key. End a Conference Call To end the conference cal l : Hang up the handset, or press the EndCall soft key. Note Dependi ng on confi gurati on when the conference cal l i ni ti ator di sconnects, the conference cal l termi nates. Alternate Methods to End a Conference Call Cal l i ni ti ators can use one of the fol l owi ng methods (functi onal i ty wi l l vary accordi ng to your system confi gurati on): To end the conference and remai n connected to the most recent cal l , press the Confrn soft key. Live Record a Call Cal l i ni ti ators can use the LiveRcd soft key to record an acti ve cal l , pri vate l i ne or conference cal l . To record a cal l : 1. Press the LiveRcd soft key. Thi s puts the other party on-hol d and i ni ti ates a cal l to the confi gured l i ve record number. 2. Press the LiveRcd agai n to stop the recordi ng. J oin a Shared-Line Call (SCCP) User can joi n a cal l on a shared l i ne usi ng the cBarge softkey. To joi n the shared-l i ne cal l : 1. Hi ghl i ght the remote-i n-use cal l that you want to joi n. 2. Press the more to navi gate to cBarge and press cBarge. J oin a Shared Line Call (SIP) User can joi n a non-pri vate cal l on a shared l i ne cal l by usi ng ei ther Barge or cBarge soft keys. Barge al l ows you to add yoursel f to the cal l by hosti ng the conference on your phone but does not al l ow others to joi n the conference. cBarge al l ows you to add yoursel f to the conference and al l ows others to joi n the conference. To joi n a shared l i ne cal l : 1. Hi ghl i ght the remote-i n-use cal l that you want to joi n. 2. Press Barge or cBarge to joi n the cal l . Tips When you Barge a cal l , other parti es hear a beep announci ng your presence. You are di sconnected from a cal l that you have joi ned usi ng Barge i f the cal l i s put on hol d, transferred, or turned i nto a conference cal l by the Barge i ni ti ator. 15 I f a phone that i s usi ng the shared l i ne has Pri vacy enabl ed, cal l i nformati on and Barge/cBarge soft keys do not appear on the other phones that share the l i ne. Hold a Shared-Line Call (SIP) User can put cal l s on a shared l i ne on hol d l i ke cal l s on a non shared l i ne. To pl ace a cal l on hol d whi l e on a shared-l i ne cal l : Hi ghl i ght the cal l that you want to put on hol d. Press the Hold soft key. Resume a Shared Line Call (SIP) User can resume a non-pri vate cal l pl aced on hol d on a shared l i ne cal l . To resume a shared l i ne cal l : 1. Hi ghl i ght the cal l that you want to resume. 2. Press Resume to resume the cal l . Place a Call from Your Local Directory To access the l ocal phone di rectory establ i shed by your system admi ni strator: 1. Press the Directories button. 2. Press the Navi gati on Up or Down button or press 4 to sel ect the Local Di rectory. 3. Press the Navi gati on Up or Down button to sel ect the Last, Fi rst, or Number fi el d search opti on. 4. Usi ng the keypad, enter the l ast name or fi rst name for the entry. When enteri ng l etters, sel ect the appropri ate number key of the l etter you want, and press that key a number of ti mes that equal s the posi ti on of the target l etter. For exampl e, to enter a B, press the 2 key two ti mes, and to enter a C, press the 2 key three ti mes. Use the backspace (<<) soft key to make correcti ons when enteri ng data. 5. Press the Search soft key to fi nd your sel ecti on. 6. I f your search resul ts i n mul ti pl e l i sti ngs, use the Navi gati on Up or Down button to sel ect the correct number. 16 7. Press the Dial soft key to di al the sel ected number. Program Personal Speed-Dial Buttons After a system admi ni strator defi nes one or more speed-di al i nstances for a Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone, you can reprogram numbers that are not l ocked or program numbers i nto an i nstance that has an empty di al stri ng: 1. Sel ect an avai l abl e phone l i ne by l i fti ng the handset, pressi ng the NewCall soft key, or pressi ng a l i ne button. Li sten for the di al tone. 2. Press the pound key (#). 3. Press the speed-di al button that you want to program. A short beep confi rms that you are starti ng to program thi s button. 4. Enter the speed-di al number. The di gi ts appear on the phone di spl ay. When you are enteri ng speed-di al numbers, use the backspace (<<) soft key to erase di gi ts that you enter i ncorrectl y. To remove a speed-di al number wi thout repl aci ng i t wi th a new one. 1. Press the pound key (#). 2. Press the same speed-di al button a second ti me to i ndi cate that you are done enteri ng the speed-di al di gi ts and to store the new speed-di al number. 3. Hang up the handset, or press a new speed-di al button and repeat thi s procedure. Place a Call from Your System Speed-Dial Directory To pl ace a cal l from your system speed-di al di rectory: 1. Sel ect an avai l abl e Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone l i ne (off hook or NewCall) and get a di al tone. 2. Press the Directories button, or use the Navigation button to l ocate the Di rectory and then press the Select soft key. 3. Use the Navigation button to scrol l through the opti ons. Use the Select soft key to sel ect speed-di al opti ons. Press 5 for the Local Speed Di al . Press 6 for the Personal Speed Di al (functi onal i ty vari es dependi ng on your system confi gurati on). 4. Use the Navigation button to scrol l through the speed-di al phone l i st. 5. To di al the sel ected phone number, ei ther press the Select soft key or enter the number on the keypad. 6. Press the Exit soft key to go to the di rectory menu. Switching an In-Progress Call to Another Phone Using SNR The Si ngl e Number Reach (SNR) feature al l ows you to swi tch an i n-progress cal l on your desktop phone to your remote desti nati on phone, such as a mobi l e phone. You can pi ck up an i n-progress cal l on the desktop phone or remote desti nati on phone wi thout l osi ng the cal l . Al l unanswered cal l s are forwarded to your voi ce mai l . Note Your system admi ni strator must confi gure thi s feature for your I P Phone. Contact your system admi ni strator for more i nformati on. Switch an in-progress Call from Your Desktop Phone to Your Remote Destination Phone To swi tch an i n-progress cal l on your desktop phone to your remote desti nati on phone: 1. Press the Mobility soft key. 2. Sel ect Send Call to Mobile Phone. 3. Answer the i n-progress cal l on your remote desti nati on phone. The desktop phone l i ne button turns red and handset i cons and the cal l i ng party number appear on the phone di spl ay. You cannot use same phone l i ne for any other cal l s, but i f your desk phone supports mul ti pl e l i nes, you can use another l i ne to make or recei ve cal l s. 17 Switch an in-progress Call from a Remote Destination Phone to Your Desktop Phone 1. Press Resume on your desk phone and start tal ki ng on your desk phone. 2. Hang up the cal l on your remote phone to di sconnect the phone. Change Your Remote Destination Phone Number You can repl ace the exi sti ng remote desti nati on phone number wi th a new phone number. To change the exi sti ng remote desti nati on phone number: 1. Press Services button and sel ect My Phone Apps. 2. Sel ect Single Number Reach. 3. Use <<soft key to type your new remote desti nati on phone number. Make sure you add the appropri ate di al i ng prefi x or access code (i f appl i cabl e) to your remote desti nati on number. 4. Press Submit. Enable or Disable Single Number Reach You can enabl e or di sabl e Si ngl e Number Reach (SNR) on your phone by usi ng the Mobility soft key. To di sabl e SNR, press Mobility soft key and sel ect Disable Mobile Connect. To enabl e SNR, press Mobility soft key and sel ect Mobile Connect On. View Call History To vi ew recent mi ssed, recei ved, or pl aced cal l s: 1. Press the Directories button. 2. Use the Navigation button to scrol l and sel ect the desi red cal l l i st. Sel ecti ve cl eari ng of cal l hi story l i sts i s not supported. 18 Use the Intercom Feature Ci sco Uni fi ed Communi cati ons Manager Express supports i ntercom functi onal i ty for one-way and press-to-answer voi ce connecti ons usi ng a dedi cated pai r of i ntercoms on two phones that speed-di al each other. To use the i ntercom feature: 1. Press the Speaker button and get the di al tone. 2. Press the speed di al key or di al the di rectory number to start the i ntercom cal l . Note The cal l ed Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone automati cal l y answers the cal l i n speakerphone mode wi th mute acti vated or deacti vated dependi ng on the confi gurati on. The phone beeps to al ert the reci pi ent to the i ncomi ng cal l . To respond to an i ntercom cal l : I f the Mute key i s l i ghted, Press the Mute button or l i ft the handset. I f the Mute key i s not l i ghted, repl y to cal l er handsfree. Activate Do Not Disturb (SCCP) For vi sual cal l al erti ng and i nformati on wi thout audi bl e ri ngi ng, use Do Not Di sturb (DnD). Cal l s recei ve normal cal l -forward-busy and no-answer treatment. To acti vate the Do-Not-Di sturb feature: 1. Press the more soft key to l ocate the DnD soft key. 2. Press the DnD soft key. A text message di spl ays to i ndi cate that the phone i s i n Do-Not-Di sturb mode. Note Pressi ng the DnD soft key i mmedi atel y forwards the cal l to the cal l -forward desti nati on set on the phone. Place a Call Using Your Cisco Extension Mobility Profile Ci sco Extensi on Mobi l i ty (EM) al l ows the user to temporari l y confi gure a Ci sco Uni fi ed I P phone to functi on as users own phone. After the user i s l ogged-i n to Ci sco EM, the phone adopts the users profi l e, i ncl udi ng the l i ne buttons, features, and establ i shed servi ces. To l og-i n to Ci sco Extensi on Mobi l i ty: 1. Press Services button and sel ect Extension Mobility. 2. Enter your user I D and password. 3. Press Submit. The phone temporari l y confi gures your profi l e and setti ngs. Go back to My Phone Apps and press Reset Phone.
