A computer system monitors the temperature of the solar

panels remotely

Researchers Control and Robotics group at the University of Huelva (
Spain ) have developed a computer system that allows electronic , remotely
and in real time, measure the surface temperature of each panel PV
system , regardless of size , to pinpoint its actual performance . That is, in
addition to detect faults, is able to recognize its operating point and
whether or not it is ideal.

Currently this procedure is done through regular site inspections by
specialized operators. Specifically, the system is able to monitor the
temperature of each solar panel so telematics, so that this process is a
reduction of economic costs associated with the monitoring and
maintenance of all types of PV system. Not influence the number of panels
that compose (tens, hundreds or thousands) and lens implantation
(domestic, commercial or research) .

In photovoltaic systems is useful to know both the surface temperature of
the panels as the solar radiation that strikes them. The objective is to
determine, according to experts, the exact point from which to extract
maximum power from a given panel, ie, the optimum operating condition.

Since both parameters can change continually throughout the day due to
weather conditions, it is difficult to detect when the electrical power that is
generated is correct or if there is some kind of failure , for example , hot
spots that alter their activity "explains project leader, Jos Manuel Andjar
, professor at the University of Huelva.

In their study, published in the journal Sensors, experts have developed
an electronic and computer system capable of high precision measuring
the surface temperature of photovoltaic panels. "This instrument allows
the temperature individually or panel- -Panel to complete installation, in
addition to providing ' alarms ' able to send automatic messages sent to
mobile phones or likewise emails when any alteration occurs" says
Professor Andjar.

Also, the system developed by specialists also provides that each user can
access the installation for telematics, in real time and from any
geographical area. "These features make the system more cost effective,
and to measure and display the temperature of each panel from all parts of
the world where there is Internet access," he qualifies.

To reach these conclusions, the experts designed and patented in the first
place, an electronic sensor that allowed the measurement and subsequent
visualization of the temperature of each of the panels through the
computer screen or other device. "We then developed by algorithmic
techniques, a system of easy implementation, free and suitable for storing,
processing and comparing many -from temperature- measures
simultaneously," said Andujar.

Finally, the device was installed and successfully tested in the School of
Engineering of the University of Huelva, where researchers reanalyzed
their viability when monitoring the temperature of the dozens of panels
that make up the PV system. "This last test helped us to check in a real
situation both the new system and access to it from different countries or
continents," he adds.

One of the main applications that emerge from the study is able to
contribute to those plans or aimed at promoting the implementation of
photovoltaic systems subsistence strategies. "This system allows you to
install and maintain a lower cost of household photovoltaic systems
previously , due to their size and investment , were not viable given the
high cost of maintenance they require periodic inspections " argues
researcher.

The development of this system has allowed researchers to open other
lines of work for the development of new utilities for preventive and
predictive maintenance, ie, a process in which the operator would only
have to move the facility to repair any damage. "This new system would
lengthen in a lifetime of photovoltaic systems, a considerable improvement
in its profitability and greater care of the environmental conditions of our
environment from the use of renewable energy," said Andujar.
These results are the fruit of excellence project Integrated system for
optimizing , monitoring and fault analysis in panels and photovoltaic
arrays , funded by the Ministry of Economy , Innovation, Science and
Employment of the Government of Andalusia. (Source: See Foundation).

Comentario

defecto a energa trmica.
