forgiveness, by exploring her relationships both past and present. In the

need it most.

The Convergence: Real Life, Real Faith in the Reel World

(July 20, 2014) New York, NY -- Filmmaker Sharon Kon is quickly
becoming an innovator in the genre known as faith films. THE FATHERS
LOVE," Ms. Kons first feature-length film, takes its inspiration from her
own life as a twenty-something single looking for love and adventure in the
Big Apple.

Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Ms. Kon graduated with honors from
Hunter College of The City University of New York with a B.S. in Film and
Video Production. Ms. Kon is a director/producer who is passionate about
producing films that have aesthetic appeal and are thought-provoking,
which are ultimately life-changing to each viewer."

Infusing this "new wave" genre with high production values, real life
situations, characters with a complex emotional range and cosmopolitan
settings, not to mention quality actors from stage and the small screen,
Ms. Kon hopes that she will inspire other faith filmmakers to tell stories that
are relatable, well acted and void of clichs.

THE ETERNAL SPACE

Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately deserves. Even when we had
Penn Station, we couldnt afford to keep it clean. We want and deserve tin-can
architecture in a tin-horn culture. And we will probably be judged not by the monuments
we build but by those we have destroyed.--Ada Louise Huxtable

THE PLAY

The Eternal Space: A Play Bringing the Old Penn Station Back to Life

Its October 1963 in New York City. The Old Pennsylvania Station is slated for demolition.
The wrecking crews are outside in the morning drizzle dismantling a fifty-three year old
marvel of American Beaux-arts architecture.
Inside a Paul Abbot, a construction worker/photographer is running away from his
present while Joseph Lanza, an aging English teacher cannot let his go his past. As one
man fights to keep the station standing the other is taking it down. These two complete
strangers begin a three-year debate over the value of old and new while the social
and economic fabric of America is literally being rewoven in The Eternal Space.

The themes of preservation and loss explored in The Eternal Space are particularly
timely as the arguments over the folly of Penn Stations demise still garners discussion
among New Yorkers as New York Citys artistic and cultural legacy at a time. With
success of recent documentaries such as The Vanishing City and Battle for Brooklyn,
urban preservation not only still a hotly contested debate among policy makers and
the general public, but is also illustrated through art. There is a growing awareness to
appreciate neighborhood cultures and architecture as an important defining
characteristic of New York City and makes the city unlike any other United States
metropolis. Did it all begin with the deconstruction of Penn Station?

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF A 3LD COLLABORATION

Most people don't realize that New York's Pennsylvania Station wasn't always the
subterranean labyrinth of cramped tunnels that we know today. For nearly fifty-three
years it was an awe-inspiring example of Beaux-arts architecture defined by its majestic

made a ceremony out of a
journey

Times

Main Waiting Room and stunning glass-roofed train shed. It was a station that dwarfed
others major trains stations in the world.

Completed in 1910 by McKim, Mead and White, Penn Station was modeled after some
of history's greatest structures including the Roman Baths of Caracalla and Berlin's
Brandenburg Gates. It was described by historian Jill Jonnes as "a great Doric temple to
transportation." Covering over 7 acres of land, it was the largest indoor space in New
York City and one of the largest indoor public areas in the world.
As the Interstate Highway System took hold and a litany of financial troubles plagued
the Pennsylvania Railroad it became necessary for the company to sell Penn Station's
air rights in the 1950's. By the early 1960's plans were announced to build a modern
office building, Penn Plaza, and sports arena, Madison Square Garden. After a three
year demolition, Penn Station was cut down to 3/4 its size and forced completely
underground. Most of the station's remains were dumped in the New Jersey
Meadowlands were it was used as swamp filler for an industrial park.

3 | P a g e

In August of 2012, The New York Times ran a feature on the 1962 protest that sparked
the Landmarks Preservation movement and the architects who fought on the stations
behalf. A highly publicized new construction of Pennsylvania Station (the Moynihan
Project) has been stalled drawing political and Hollywood star power to its aid so that
the new station which, plans to pay homage to the 1966 Pennsylvania Station with a
towering ceiling glass concourse, can be completed. And of course the important 50th
Anniversary of the day the demolition began is fast upon us bringing the awareness of
the needless destruction of an American marvel to a whole new generation interested
in architectural perseveration.

What, at first, appears to be a simple two-person dialogue is really an opportunity for a
completely innovative theatrical experience. The Eternal Space aims to recreate the
marvel of the former Pennsylvania Station using the most advanced technology
available. A critical element and really the third actor on the stage are the actual
photographs that documented the stations demise. This is a play where the
photographs actually speak. Photographs of the current Penn Station along with the
stills taken from 1963-1966 will be responsible for creating the passage of time and also
serving as the setting for each of the scenes. The concept is to make the audience feel
as though they are sitting in the station itself.

We hope to collaborate with 3LD to transform the theatre into Old Penn Station, where
the audience witnesses the audio and visual destruction of one of New Yorks marvels
leaving them with what is presently Penn Station. What makes telling the story of The
Eternal Space fascinating is the fact that during the process of building Madison Square
Gardens and pushing the train station to the subterranean, commuters were guided to
their trains through a maze of plastic sheets and closed off areas. 1960s New Yorkers
single-handed witness the removal of the heart and soul of Penn Station and then
suddenly the natural lighting changed to florescent and the vaulted ceilings that
dwarfed Grand Central Station turned New Yorkers into moles quickly moving through
the grimy tunnels to their destinations without any pomp and splendor. As the opposing
characters friendship builds through understanding; the third character, the station also

transforms. With inspiration from the photos taken by Peter Moore, we hope to rebuild
Penn Station using Musion Eyeliner and 3LD design collaboration.

October 29, 2013 will mark the 50th anniversary of that great loss. In October of 2013, a
full-production remount of The Eternal Space will bring the Old Penn Station back to life
while giving voice to the quiet lament of losing it half a century ago.
PENN STATION IS STILL AN ETERNAL SPACE

Embarking on the Anniversary of Penn Stations Deconstruction
October 28, 2013 will mark the 50th Anniversary of Penn Station's demolition. The
debates of preservation and loss stirred up 50 years ago are deeply explored in The
Eternal Space and still timely today. In July and August of 2012, The New York Times ran two
features on the 1962 protests that later sparked the Landmarks Preservation movement.
Almost fifty years earlier the Times reported: A building that sometimes made a
ceremony out of a journey reached the end of the line, architecturally at 9 A.M.
Electric jackhammers tore at the granite slabs of the side of the terminalcrushing the
hopes of a band of architects who had rallied to save what the Municipal Art Society
called one of the great monuments of classical America. On October 28, 2013, the
50th anniversary of that great loss, The Eternal Space will bring the Old Penn Station back
to life while giving voice to the quiet lament of losing an architectural marvel half a
century ago.

Total $ 248,612

This budgetary option focuses on developing the artistic approach in design and talent.
Off-Broadway run in a 99+ seat black box convertible space near Penn Station for a
two-month run (Oct-November 2013) totally $64 performances at an average ticket
rate of $18-65 based on tiered-seating price options. The design will be the focal point
of this production by converting an event space, loft or large off-Broadway theatre into
a transforming replica of the deconstructing Penn Station. Location is also flexible in this
option in choosing a non-traditional theater space that can accommodate the 3LD
technology. By finding a location near the current Penn Station re-construction and re-
development will open opportunities to partner with MTA/Penn Station (Moynihan
Station) and will create unique publicity opportunities. The conversion of space will be
similar to 3LDs home base theater conversion of a Lower Manhattan parking structure
into a multi-media theatrical space. Also by using a flexible space we can further
develop and accommodate design ideas using Eyeliner and other 3LD technologies.
Eyeliner is a new and unique high definition video projection system allowing
spectacular freeform three-dimensional moving images to appear within a live stage
setting.
8 | P a g e

The actors will interact with virtual images, human or animated set designs. Eyeliner
will be the set and the photography that is centered in the play will be projected thus
becoming the third character.
The talent selected to perform will be recognizable named actors; and actors fees
may be higher based on the new Equity/SAG merger rates.
*this estimate is based on a 99-seat theater. Off-Broadway seating capacities range
from 99-499 seats.

THE TEAM

Justin Rivers (playwright)

It had been awhile since Justin has had his hand in theatre or playwriting although
it's always like coming home for him. He wrote The Eternal Space in 2002 as a
testament to all the things we don't appreciate until they're gone. And after thinking
the play itself was gone for good he was more than delighted to see it produced
again in such capable hands. Currently Justin is author and co-collaborator
of The Wonder City, a graphic novel that re-imagines the history of New York
City. When he isn't chasing down New York City history and folklore, he's Lead
Educator for the Friends of Nick Foundation where he teaches character concepts
to middle school students and teachers throughout NYC. He really enjoys helping
kids find their voice in writing because he knows it's where he found his. He currently

artists through radio, online media and performance curation. It believes in the
curiosity and intelligence of its audience by committing to the prospect of
promoting art as a universal, egalitarian, and inclusive necessity. Artsy Fartsy Show
gathers arts-related topic discussions and collaborative performances with artists
(obscure, emerging to the world-renowned).

cultural participation by demographic audiences who have low attendance
patterns. The mission is to make the appreciation of art in all its forms and
persuasions, accessible and consumable for everyone regardless of ethnicity, socio-

The Joe Franklin Show
ran on Television for 40
consecutive years! He's
even in The Guinness

There isn't now and never
will be another show
quite like it. Its host Joe
Franklin was, in many
ways, the pioneer of the
modern TV Talk Show
Format.
Joe Franklin is one of
Television and Radio's
most durable and beloved
personalities ever. Through the course of The Joe Franklin Show Joe interviewed
an astonishing 300,000+ guests!
For a time, Joe employed Bette Midler and her accompanist Barry Manilow as his
in-house singer. Woody Allen, Dustin Hoffman, Barbara Streisand, Bill Cosby,
and Liza Minnelli are among the world's great talents who got their first exposure
on The Joe Franklin Show.
Joe's Franklin 's lovable and funny persona even prompted comedian Billy Crystal
to imitate him on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" for four years. Joe has appeared
regularly with Conan O'Brien. He's also seen on "The David Letterman Show,"
"Live With Regis And Kathy Lee," and has been mentioned several times on the
hit cartoon series "The Simpsons."
He was recently honored by The Museum Of Television and Radio and can
currently be heard Saturday nights broadcasting on WOR's "Memory Lane"
(710AM in NYC, 12 midnight). Joe can also be heard daily on Bloomberg Radio's
"Lifestyles" segment.

Monarch
Monarch is the musical project of
Brennan Strawn. His debut album The
Grandeur That Was Rome was released
in 2003 to high critical acclaim, naming
it one of the best indie releases of 2003
and calling the record a modern day
symphony a work of art. Signed to
Northern Records (Sony/Red), monarch
is filled with unique sounds as well as
emotional ups and downs that keep their
listeners longing for more. If I were to
sit down and try to describe the sound of
Monarchs music, I would never be able
to do them justice. Several words come
to mind: beautiful, emotive, haunting,
sad, cathartic, just to name a few
(Decapolis). Brennan Strawn has toured throughout the world and has shared
the stage with many influential artists in pop music. His sophomore release,
Lowly, is scheduled for release this fall on Northern/Sony/Red.
The focal point of the heavily melodic, intense and passionate sounds cape,
much lauded by writers before me, is the voice of lead singer Brennan Strawn.
More dexterous than Jeff Buckleys, richer than Thom Yorkes and sexier than
Chris Martins, Strawns vocals capture the kind of melodies where no intelligible
words need be present...
the bands overall sound reflected and supported Strawn with a calm,
controlled sound characteristically brought to an ending crescendo. Not so much
subtle as explosive and yearning, Monarch brought the theme of personal Hell
that I imposed to a point of salvation, thematically redeeming and original as well
as musically surpassing other bands...
Monarchs reputation is unique and inimitable, a reputation thats garnered
them a local cult following as well as notable national attention. As they develop
beyond the belabored references to Radiohead and Sigur Ros, Monarch stands, as
far as Ive seen, as a truly worthwhile band..~ end

Studio Six
Upon graduation from MXAT, in the summer of 2005, a group of newly professional actors began the process of founding their own theater company. They were invited to debut
in the United States at the ArtsLand Festival in Cambridge , Massachusetts . ArtsLand brought to the US three plays from three Eastern European countries. Prominent directors
representing each nation were also invited. The plays were performed in original English translations for their US premiere. The relationships that grew out of the festival between
the directors and actors of Studio VI sparked the project that followed in the winter of 2005-2006. Studio VI went back to Moscow and staged three productions with Moscow
based directors.
Yuri Yeremin directed the company in two of Chekhov's Vaudevilles, The Bear and The Wedding, which received great reviews and performed for large crowds throughout their
Moscow run. Ivan Popovski re-staged " A Place I've Never Been To," which had premiered at ArtsLand, for his Moscow audience. The last production in Moscow was directed by
a rising American director and assistant director to Moscow 's famous Kama Ginkas. He chose Finer Noble Gases by Adam Rapp, whose work had yet to be performed in Russia .
This production inspired Kama Ginkas to invite Studio Six to perform in St. Petersburg at the "Students of the Master Festival: Kama Ginkas" at the end of the year. November
2006 found Studio Six traveling back to Russia for the Ginkas Festival. They performed in Moscow and then in St. Petersburg to large houses in both cities.

While in Moscow Studio VI also performed for the American Chamber of Commerce, Russian-American Business Council, at a Moscow theater opening and at the Secretary of
Foreign Affairs Holiday Celebration.

B EDWARDS
WRITING SAMPLE
NEA MEDIA ARTS GRANT APPLICATION

SOME DETAILS OMITTED FOR COMPANY CONFIDENTALITY

ASSESMENT OF NEED

The Art Program serves Americans, the artistic community and struggling artists. It is an important and
unique community radio format bringing resources and arts understanding to the nation. The Art Program,
unlike any other radio program broadcasting in America, melds news and performance on-air and off-air.
Through its interactive format it will revitalize radio consumption through the use of internet and live
interactive arts experience projects in pioneering ways. The grant will meet a portion of the financial needs for
development, distribution and production of the Art program and will fulfill the needs the needs that have
been researched of the American public and the advancement of the American art portfolio.

The scope of the work to be accomplished during the grant period will address the needs of expanding the
spring 2012 distribution of the Art Program across the country, the online presence for the radio program,
the development of new mobile media and the positive economic impact of Americans participating in
cultural activities.

When it comes to media coverage, many local arts agencies are so busy being reactive, there is often little time to be proactive. These days public
outcry and funding crises often eclipse the stories that can arouse favorable public opinions about arts in your community. Jennifer Neiman,
Communications Coordinator, National Assembly of Local Arts Agencies (Monographs).

Today people consume radio in new ways through the internet and podcast mediums. Developing a specific
podcast and live video stream and additional online content invites the listeners to partake in the studio
experience, ask in-depth questions not available to most.

Importance of Online Radio Product

In the study conducted by Arbitron and Edison Research (Infinite Dial, 2009), the majority of online radio
listeners stated the reason why they listen to radio online: 1.) To listen to audio you cannot get elsewhere 2.)
To choose and control what programs/music that is played. The key radio demographic of 35-54-year olds
are becoming more frequent online radio listeners. Online radio users are well-educated, upper income, full-
time employed and digitally savvy consumer.

It is necessary to develop the availability of digital audio streams that will accelerate adoption of alternative
choice of accessing the radio broadcasts of The Art Program. As consumers demand flexibility, control and
variety drive their use of online and mobile media options. If the Arts Program does not meet consumer
expectations it will adversely suffer as online listener loyalty and users will find other options far more easily.

Accessibility of the broadcasts available through online stream and podcasts helps us to reach underserved
cultural arts demographics. According to the Wall Street Journal (July 8th, 2008), About 42 million Americans
tune into online radio each week, up from 19 million in 2004 (via Arbitron and Edison Research). Similar
findings (NPD Group, Music Alley and Bloomberg Media) exemplify the move from terrestrial radio to online
audio stream, podcast and archive access. Downloads from P2P networks fell 6% last year according to
NPD, but 52% of teens say they listened to online radio - up from 34% in 2007 - while 46% used social
networking sites to download or stream music - up from 26% in 2007.

The importance of online accessibility does not discount the necessity of nationwide terrestrial radio
distribution. Most Americans learn about radio programs by listening to a terrestrial radio broadcast or word
of mouth from a friend, colleague, or family radio. The listener then moves his or her loyalty to downloading
iTunes podcasts of the favorite radio programs for flexibility of listening options.

More importantly, the study (Infinite Dial, 2009) concluded, that Radio station web sites must embrace online
video, and not just online audio as the use of online video exceeds online radio. Two-thirds of monthly online
radio users also watched online video in the past month.

Importance of New Mobile Media Developments

The use of the Art Program new media development online and video stream will be essential in meeting the
demographic needs of the nations dropping cultural attendance. We will strive to present material and feature
artists that will appeal to the following demographics that have significant need for growth in attendance to
cultural activities: African and Hispanic Americans (18-24 years old) with the educational attainment range of
high school through some college, with family income of $10,000-20,000. Typically our demographic reach
will have the educational attainment range of Undergraduate degree through Graduate, 25-34 years old White
Americans with family income of $30,000-40,000. 9 out of 10 Americans have Internet access; 6 out of 7 have
broadband Internet will have the increased capability of accessing The Art Program than in years past.

According to NEA 2011 Study, the rates of Internet use are negatively correlated with older ages; younger
respondents reported using the Internet at higher rates than older respondents. For example, 42.5% of 18- to
24-year-olds reported watching, listening to or downloading live or recorded music, theater or dance
performances, compared with 1.3% of respondents aged 75 and older. Similarly, 20.2% of 18- to 24-year-olds
reported viewing visual arts online, compared with 2.7% of respondents aged 75 and older. Overall, results
illustrate a dramatic age skew associated with accessing art online. The rates of Internet usage are positively
correlated with education are greater with higher educational attainment, especially at the levels of some
college and above. Educational attainment and rates of accessing the arts through recorded and broadcast
electronic media are positively correlated, except for viewing and/or listening to Latin, Spanish, or salsa music
through media, for which individuals with grade-school education levels reported the highest rates (25.8%).
Adults who self-identify as Hispanic are approximately 30% more likely than whites to view or listen to
recordings or live broadcasts. When we control for participation in arts lessons, African Americans are 17%
more likely than whites, and American Indians are 40% more likely than whites to watch or listen to an arts
recording or broadcast.

In addition to online reach potential of the Art Program to under-represented populations, Abitron (P1s in the
PPM World: Insights into the Listeners Who Matter Most, 2007) found that Spanish-speaking and African-
American consumers show the highest radio usage, while African-American and other consumers have the
highest loyalty. While the very old and the very young are the lightest users of radio, loyalty increases with
age. The heaviest users of radio are those aged 45-54 and 25-34 years, followed by those aged 18-24, 35-44
and 55-64 years.

Although the study finds that teens are the lightest radio users they are also the one of the highest internet
media consumers found in the NPD Group, Music Alley and Bloomberg Media study.

Social Networks Trends That Point To the Acceptance of New Media Usage

The necessity for an Art Program mobile application and podcasts through new media is essential in reaching
the missing radio demographic not consuming radio online or terrestrial radio. We will develop a download
application of our program for the latest Mp3 media players, iPod and iPad technology that allows listeners to
access the program through their computer or mobile phones. In addition to applications, we will video
stream our radio program and additional content throughout the week through social networks including
Google+ now in its Beta form.

The impact of New Media through social networks has a great impact in bridging potential listeners through
their mobile phone usage to the terrestrial and online streams as one third of Americans 12+ have Smart
Phones. Of the Art Program target demographic of ages 18-24, 80% of Americans have social network
profiles in 2011 (Facebook, Linkedin, Myspace, Twitter) and of our target demographic of ages 25-34 68%
have social network profiles. 59% of frequent social network users listen to online radio (Edison Recearch,
2009). Edison Research found (The Social Habit, 2011) Social Media now reaches the majority of Americans
12+, with 52% having a profile on one or more social networks. Approximately 46 million Americans 12+
now check their social media sites and services several times every day. Much of this frequent usage is driven
by mobile access. 56% of frequent social network users own smart phones, and 64% of frequent social
networkers have used a mobile phone to update their status on one or more social networks.

When comparing the impact of Twitter, a newer and more engaging social network, to Facebook, Twitter has
greater accessibility and use by American minorities by 15%. We project that Google+ will become a highly
used, engaging social network that will expand its use to more American minorities that will match or exceed
the ethnic trend use of Twitter. Google+ will allow the Art Program to engage in hangouts which are video
streams and sharing of content on individual computers at the same time. Through hangouts, Art Program
will stream its broadcasts, additional artists interviews, and host educational symposiums for artists.

The power of social networks to transmit radio to listeners and online consumers of the Art Program is
greater than traditional marketing. According to Edison Research (Social Habit Study, 2011) One in four social
network users knowingly follow brands, products or services on social networks. For those who use these
sites and services several times per day, this figure increases to 43%. Amongst those who do follow brands,
products or companies on social networks, 80% indicate that Facebook is the network they use the most to
connect with companies (Demographic age 12+ Americans).

The development of online programming, new stream technology and podcasts of the Art Program is
pertinent as more Americans are using mobile technology instead of cable, radio and landline phones. (36%
of frequent social network users are cord cutters, according to the Social Habit 2011 study by Edison
Research. New York Times (11/2008) reported that radio now reaches more than 235 million listeners a
week, versus 232 million last year, according to a study by Arbitron. But those people are listening to the
radio less: fewer than 19 hours a week, versus about 20.4 in 2005.

The podcasts and new mobile media developments of the Art Program provide sustainable additions to the
American arts portfolio. Online platforms will ensure that information presented by the Art Program will be
available for the foreseeable future. We also believe that through physical engagement through live interactive
arts experience projects, will give our online and terrestrial radio listeners the experience of inclusion as a part
of the program, in the same way that a concertgoer experiences the album at home after the live concert.

The Importance of Art Program Live Interactive Arts Experience Projects

Arts news reporting of current cultural activities nationwide is incredibly valuable to the American economy.
Art news magazines such as the Art Program, gives potential cultural consumers the ability to sample a given
cultural performance in their locale on-air or online prior to purchasing a ticket. The audience of the Art
Program will be more likely to attend cultural events heard on the program, featured online. This is an
essential component of the impact Art Program has on building and supporting the American art portfolio.
On average, a typical attendee spends $27.70 per person per event in addition to the cost of admission. Non-
local audiences spend twice as much to the local counterparts of $40.19 per person per event. The typical
allocation of these additional costs per person per event include: transportation, local service industry costs,
gift and souvenir purchases, and other purchases. Nationally, the nonprofit arts and culture industry generates
$166.2 billion in economic activity each year and these activities generate $29.6 billion in government revenue
and $5.7 million U.S jobs (American for the Art Study: Arts & Economic Prosperity III, 2011).

The Art Program live interactive arts projects will be an affordable cultural step for Americans to participate
in cultural arts activities and will encourage them to seek out others outside of our program. A portion of the
Art Program is dedicated to providing news reports of resources to aid the artistic endeavors of Americans
through advocacy, lesser-known organizations and useful tools that will help strengthen the artistic
communities across the nation. American artists are an economic driving tool making their communities
more desirable places to live and work, generating government revenue, supporting job growth and national
tourism.

Peter Gleason Art Politics
Politico Pete Gleason reports on that blurred line between arts & politics. A stint in the NYPD (1983-1986)
gave him a unique, inside perspective on governmental hypocrisy. It was while Pete was assigned to the elite
Manhattan South Task Force that he met and was befriended by famed civil rights attorney, William Kunstler.
This chance meeting inspired Pete to eventually go to law school, and today, he represents a variety of clients.
While representing a whistle blower, Pete, with great success, modeled his strategy after the influence of his
friend. Additionally, Pete served as a member of the FDNY, where he eventually became an arson
investigator. Today, Pete is a contributing columnist for the Irish Voice and has been apart of a Law & Order
storyline. After an unsuccessful run for city council, Pete has dedicated part of his practice to prosecuting
those profiting from the illegal sex trade. He is a member of the National Arts Club.
Memorable features by Pete on the Artsy Fartsy Show: Interview with famed mentalist Uri Gellar; the disappearing artistic
culture of SoHo; property law in regard to lost art citing the recent news of stolen Picasso masterpieces found in France; reported
on how social networks online service agreements impact on artist coypyrights.

Hollis Witherspoon is an Oregon-born actress and writer. She graduated summa cum laude with a BA

winning thesis on the discursive treatment of selling and consuming anti-anxiety and anti-depression drugs in
American culture. Witherspoon has also collaborated extensively with several well known artists, such as
Delia Brown and Zefrey Throwell, and brings this unique perspective to her weekly Spot of Culture segment.
As a contributing writer and producer to the Artsy Fartsy Show, Witherpsoon editorializes the intersection of

diverse and timely subjects.

Jon Braman Resident Songwriter
Jon Braman, Yale graduate, a rapper-songwriter, was a two-time regional finalist in the Mountain Stage New
Song Contest (in both mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions). It just happens that his sound of choice is an
organic funk centered around a baritone ukulele. His tunes include rhymes about growing up, love, injustice
and eco-cataclysm. He has performed in the United States on stages from NYC to Big Island, Hawaii. Jon has
shocked and awed audiences with his one-of-a-kind blend of acoustic, melodic grooves and the hard-hitting,
political rhymes of a conscious MC. In addition to AFS, Braman co-hosts a monthly showcase called The
Melting Pot with MC Webbafied.
