MAHSA University
MAHSA UNIVERSITY was established in 2004 with the aim
of producing competent healthcare professionals for the
country.
Located at Jalan Universiti and Pusat Bandar Damansara,
our two campuses are equipped with state-of-the-art
facilities to provide the best learning experience and
hands-on practice to students. They are also adjacent to
public facilities such as banks, restaurants, shops, clinics
and LRT stations.
MAHSA is ofering a wide spectrum of courses both home-
grown and in collaboration with renowned international
partner universities, ranging from certifcate and diploma
to bachelor and masters degrees. The courses are
specially designed to integrate holistic theoretical learning
with comprehensive hands-on training.

A 50 acre site at Saujana Putra about 30km from the capital Kuala Lumpur
purchased to construct and develop our own purpose built campus in addition
to the City campuses at Pusat Bandar Damansara and Jalan Universiti, PJ. Work
at the Saujana Putra Campus is expected to start in early 2011 and the frst
phase is scheduled to be completed in 1 to 2 years. When fully completed
in three to four years, the campus can accommodate 15,000 students in all
faculties and accommodation for 10,000 students, with sports recreational
facilities like a football stadium, an Olympic size swimming pool and student
recreation centre. Under phase three, a Hotel and Hospital will be constructed.

Northumbria University, United Kingdom Is our oldest partner and has approximately 1500 students
studying in MAHSA University and in recent years more than two thousand students have graduated
at degree and Masters level, having studied programmes in Nursing and Physiotherapy.
Teesside University, United Kingdom has been actively involved in working with MAHSA University
in the 4 year pre-registration degree programme with some 500 students graduating with a Nursing
Studies Degree from a very popular 4+0 programme.
Anglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom, have over the last two years been working with MAHSA
University to validate MAHSA University Awards in Business and Engineering so Dual Award status
can be ofered to our students.
Brighton University, United Kingdom, are currently working with MAHSA University to create a 2+2
MPharm programme in which students on completion of two years in Malaysia will move to Brighton
to complete their studies.

Kuala Lumpur?

Geographically, Malaysia is as diverse as its culture. There are two
parts to the country, 11 states in the peninsula of Malaysia and two
states on the northern part of Borneo. Cool hideaways are found
in the highlands that roll down to warm, sandy beaches and rich,
humid mangroves.

The Federation of Malaysia comprises of Peninsular Malaysia, and
the sates of Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo.
Geographic Location
Situated between 2 and 7 to the North of the Equator line, Peninsular
Malaysia is separated from Sabah and Sarawak by the South China
Sea. In the northern part of Peninsular Malaysia lies Thailand, and in
the south, neighbouring Singapore. Sabah and Sarawak are bounded
by Indonesia while Sarawak also shares borders with Brunei.

People
Malaysia comprises of Malays, Chinese, Indian and other races make
up the rest of the countrys population.
Language
(Bahasa Melayu) Malay is the national language in use, but
English is widely spoken. The ethnic groups also converse in the
various languages and dialects.
Religion
Islam is the ofcial religion of the country, but other religions are
widely practised.
Weather
The country experiences tropical weather year-round.
Temperatures are from 21C (70F) to 32C (90F). Higher
elevations are much colder with temperatures between 15C
(59F) to 25C (77F). Annual rainfall varies from 2,000mm to
2,500mm.
Currency
The monetary unit of the country
is Ringgit Malaysia and is written
as RM.

the requirements of the Board of Engineers Malaysia
which is a signatory to the Washington Accord and thus

Foundation
Programmes
All foundation courses have a common entry semester that
allows students to re-cap and develop key university oriented
learning skills in subjects such as Mathematics, English,
IT, Professional Development and Communication and
Psychology.
In Semesters 2 and 3 students study core subjects specifc to
their chosen discipline. For example, FIS provides core subjects
of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths with additional
Medical Physics, FIB has similar core subject in areas such as
Chemistry, Maths and Physics as well as engineering specifc
modules and FIB has its own specifc core subjects.
Foundation courses provides students with one key advantage
over equivalent second level degree entry qualifcations such
as A-level in that you will have been in a university learning
environment for one year and will have therefore understood
and carried one of the key learning metrics for your chosen
degree course, self-learning and the ability to manage your
educational going forward....
