Endangered especies

Objective:
To create a presentation with useful information
about endangered species.
Community benefit:
To research, learn and raise awareness in the school
community about endangered animals and provide
solutions to improve their chances of survival.
Pregunta 1
How can we help them survive?
Join an organization dedicated to helping endangered
species. Some organizations focus on a species or
particular region of the world, while others try to help many
different species. You could donate money, write to
politicians or to offer your time to pick up trash, restore
habitats, and perform other activities sponsored by the
organization.
Learn about endangered species and their habitats, visiting
national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and nature reserves. In
most of these areas, there are guided tours, which include
information on the species of animals that live there.
Teaches children about endangered species and
conservation. He volunteers to help with conservation
efforts.

Protect existing habitats and restore those who have been
lost to promote the proliferation and the return of native
species. Consider planting trees or native plants in your
garden or patio, collect trash or working with other members
of the community to restore natural habitats.

Do not buy products made from endangered species or
threatened plant and animal products. Buy exotic or rare
reputable dealers or shops that can provide appropriate
documentation pets.

Recycled products to help reduce pollution and waste .
Donate your used items to charity, have a compost pile and
recycle everything you can. Get rid of dangerous
substances such as thinners or antifreeze in a safe manner.

Save energy, water and other natural resources. Turn off
lights and appliances when you're not using. Use rainwater
to water the garden and install water-saving devices in
toilets, faucets and washing machines. Use your bike or
walk when you can do instead of using a motor vehicle.

Educate others about what they should do to help
endangered species. Write articles for a local newspaper,
works as a volunteer at a nature center or teach children
about conservation.

Pregunta 2
Where do they live?
The Mexico Lobos live from northern Mexico to southern
Arizona and New Mexico. The Mexican wolf is threatened
and in danger of extinction by the so decreased their
Habitat, exec men hunting cattle and lack of food.

Pregunta 3
Why do they need protecting?
Currently there are about 90 copies of the certificate lineage
in Mexico and the total population, including captive
Mexican wolves in the United States and other international
zoos, add about 240 copies. So although they are getting
results the Mexican wolf is still considered as requiring
greater protection worldwide, since it is considered the
rarest in the world.

Canis lupus baileyi or
Mexican wolf

The Mexican wolf (Canis lupus baileyi) is a
slightly different genetically wolf subspecies
present in North America. It is also the smallest
of the subspecies, reaching a length not
exceeding 135 cm and a maximum height of 80
cm, approximately. Weights range from 27 kg to
45 kg.
Development
the wolves are born blind and deaf after a
gestation period of about 65 days, usually born
overnight. The cubs are born with round head
and larger proportion to the body, making it
appear flat; small and the corners of his lips
ears clear.

The period of mating, birth
and growth of the Mexican
wolf

The mother breastfeeds at regular intervals of 5
hours. During the first two weeks did not
emerge from the burrow, then defecate and
mother takes out the solid feces, while the
father remains a few meters from the entrance.
Between 15 and 18 days the pups open their
eyes, at this time they are able to stand and
walk inside the burrow, although it does not
come out.
Food

In the developmental stages madman little
puppies mother and begin to eat regurgitated
food by the parents, especially the mother. At 4
weeks of birth denture has fully emerged and
start picking small pieces of meat, even though
parents regurgitate their food. The change of
power from milk, semi-solid food (regurgitated)
and solid food (pieces of meat) is closely
related to the emergence and development of
the teeth. This information has been derived
from a study of captive wolves individuals
Mexicans.

Decline and extinction

until recently, Mexican wolf habitat stretched
from the desert of Sonora, Chihuahua and
central Mexico to western Texas, southern New
Mexico and Central Arizona. (Note that recent
studies completed by genetics experts show
that wolves lived to Northern Colorado). They
occupied a wide range of habitats, from desert
and semi-arid to temperate forests. Largely
nocturnal, wolves basically fed deer, pronghorn,
javelin (a species of wild pig), bighorn sheep,
hares and rodents. By the twentieth century,
reduction of natural prey like deer caused
wolves attacking livestock situation occurred
aggressive extermination campaigns by
government agencies in the United States and
the overhunting of Mexican farmers.
