WEEK 7
My project briefs have devolved into just the
copy for what I have to design. Everyone’s too
busy for me to make an issue about it, but I
gently mention to an increasingly overworked
Antonio that the Project Briefs are helpful
guides when I do my work.

6. Reduce the width of the name block and increase the size of the colored box lower
right as much as possible to fit the space available. The bottom of the box should be done
aligned with the bottom of the name block. Our constraint here is that the printer can-
not print past ½” of the bottom and ¼” of the edge of the slip, so we need the inside left done - I also moved the bottom of the form up to the 1/2” margin, so that nothing gets cut

these changes if I’ve been unclear.

Adrian-
Thanks v much for making the changes. A last set of changes, and we’re done:
1. Upper left, delete “www.pen.org” if you can (if it’s not part of the logo), which is re-
petitive with the URL upper right.
2. We hear you on the font problem. The Cheltenham font along the border conforms
with the letterhead, so that seems like it ought to stay. Given that, would you recom-
mend that we use a different font for the rest of the form? We’re using Times New Roman
in the body of the letter (on letterhead), and on the update itself you used your favorite
font, so we’re already using 3 different fonts. What would you recommend?
3. Note: the green portions of this slip will be printed first (and separately from the
black), so we need 1 version of the slip with only the green (today) and another only
with the black (by Tuesday).

Hi all, Adrian-
Attached is the revised form, with a few notes:
You are my hero du jour. Thanks for your quick turnaround on this. I’ll let you know if
1) In general when using smaller type, it’s better to use a sans-serif font. So for the body anything else comes up. If not, then have a great weekend. R
of the form, I’d prefer to use the Futura font that’s in the 2009 update. It’s not really a
problem to have all the type that’s green-gold to be Cheltenham, as it sort of belongs to-
gether (logo, solicitation, etc), but I would encourage the use of the sans serif font for the
rest of the form. Times New Roman wouldn’t be too terrible, but Futura is better.
Additional clarification: so when I prepare this for production, I’ll actually be sending in
two different files: one with just the green-gold elements (x3) and one with all the black
elements (x3)?
Thanks.
Nick and Stacy,
This is the Beyond Margins flyer in colour.
Let me know if I missed
anything. Thanks!
