DIRECTIONS: For this spelling list, pick ONE item to complete from each column (A, B, C,) AND
ONE free choice item (can be from any column) FOR A TOTAL OF 4 ITEMS. Do each item on a
SEPARATE sheet of paper. Write the title of the assignment at the top of the page. Make sure your
NAME and HOMEROOM are on the top of each page. The entire Spelling Practice Packet
needs to be turned in at the beginning of class on Friday. It should be stapled together. It will
be graded as follows:

RAINBOW SPELLING
Write each word 1 time using
pencil. Trace over each word
2 times using 2 different colors.
ABC ORDER
Put your words in alphabetical
order. List them one time going
A to Z. List them a second
time going Z to A.

CARTOON WORDS
Design a cartoon strip. Include
at least 10 of your spelling
words in the characters
dialogue.
WEIRD WRITING
Write each word 1 time on a
sheet of paper. Use a variety
of colors. The words should
be written all over the page-
sideways, up, down, diagonal-
whatever! They should be
written in different fonts. Make
it crazy!
AFFIX ARTWORK
Divide your paper into 4
sections like this:




Write one affix per square.
Then draw a neat, colorful
picture to represent each
affix.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Use a dictionary (book or
online) to define at least 12
words (3 under each affix).
Write each word and its
definition.
WORD SEARCH
Create a word search using all
of the spelling words. Dont
forget to write a list of the
words so that the person doing
the puzzle knows what words
to look for! Hint: Use graphing
paper to make sure everything
stays in line!
ILLUSTRATE
Write and illustrate 15 of
your spelling words.
WORD SCRAMBLE

Write your words with all
the letters scrambled up.
Then ask a parent, sibling, or
friend to unscramble the
words. Be sure to check and
correct that persons work.

TYPE IT UP!
Type each of your spelling
words four times each. Print
out the list.
MISSING VOWELS:
Write each spelling word
without its vowels. Replace
each vowel with a blank line.
Have someone try to figure out
the correct word.
WRITE A STORY
Write a story using at least 10
of your words. Underline the
words you use.
