Assessment in English Language
and Literature Teaching


Course Description:

This is a short certificate course on Assessment in English Language and Literature Teaching that will
cover concepts, principles, myths, issues, and trends in assessment. The course will give intensive
training to participants in designing and developing assessment tools/ instruments in teaching and
testing the macro skills and literature towards a more focused and holistic learning.

The participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion for attending ALL modules of this
intensive short course on TESL 2 focused on Assessment or a Certificate of Participation for
attending any of the modules.


Target Participants:

This can be a refresher course to those who have been teaching English, whether, a major or non-
major of English, and an introductory, yet comprehensive course on assessment for the new
teachers of English as a second language.

Prerequisite: Participants should be
a) Holder of any four year degree program
b) Proficient in English both in oral and written forms
c) Willing to undergo an intensive course (likened to a graduate course)

Walk in participants may enroll for the complete 49-hour certificate course or may opt to attend
the module/s they prefer on a per day basis.


Course Fees:

PhP 6000 (complete course- 7 Saturdays)
PhP 1000 (per whole day module)

(With discount for groups of 5 and for early registrants; Salary deduction scheme for MC Faculty)
Fees include seminar kit and handouts, snacks, and certificate
