    John Jay Letter to George Washington, President of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia PA in 1787, recommending the "Natural Born Citizen" clause be added to requirements for any future President and Commander in Chief of our military as a "strong check" against foreign influence on those who would be in that office in the future. The founding generation had a grandfather clause in Article II Section 1 Clause exempting them from the natural born Citizen requirement because they were the original citizens who directly adhered to the revolutionary cause. But they worried about future generations after the founding generation was gone electing someone born with foreign influence on them. Thus they specified by using the natural born Citizen term from natural law, that for future presidents only those born in the USA to two citizens parents would be eligible. Unity of citizenship and sole allegiance at birth to the USA and only the USA was the intent and purpose in order to prevent people born with foreign influence and allegiances on them from ever getting in command of our military. People born with dual or multiple citizenship at birth are not eligible since they are born without sole allegiance to the USA and are thus NOT natural born Citizens of the USA.
