"BASEPLT9" --- STEEL COLUMN BASE PLATE ANALYSIS

Program Description
"BASEPLT9" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analsis of steel column !ase
plates" Specificall# wide flange column !ase plates ma !e su!$ected to axial loads %compression or tension&#
with or without ma$or-axis column !ending# plus ma$or-axis shear" Base plate !earing pressure is chec'ed as
well as !olt tension# if applica!le" (f shear is present# !olt shear as well as interaction of !olt tension and shear#
if applica!le# are calculated" )inall# the re*uired !ase plate thic'ness is calculated" There is a separate
wor'sheet for !ase plate shear lug design# when shear load is high and cannot !e effecti+el handled ! !olts"
This program is a wor'!oo' consisting of four %,& wor'sheets# descri!ed as follows-
