Introduction
Perception is the conception of ideas and
deals with the various aspects regarding the
employees work relationship in the
organization as well as outside. The
corporate head office and manufacturing
facilities of the Needle Industries India Pvt
Ltd are located in the Nilgiri mountains
2,200 metres above sea level in southern
India. the company was incorporated in
1949 as a subsidiary of a major British
manufacturer of hand sewing needles,
knitting pins and hard haberdashery
products manufacture commenced with the
very simple gramophone needle. Over the
years the tiny company managed not only
to survive, but to grow through its own

products . The sixties saw a shareholding shift to Indian hands and with this
came the introduction of the company s brand name Pony, now a household
name in most parts of the world. Hence a study is undertaken to analyse the
perception of employees in the needle industries India Pvt ltd , The Nilgiris
with 180 respondents.

A problem free worker of the company
encompasses many things like sound wage
structure, security promotion policy which
will reduce the problems of the workers to
some extent. This study is based on human
perception of a problem free life and it also
focuses on personnel management.
Scope of the study
The study reflects on the factors considered
by human beings to follow administrative
measures so that it gives them a problem
free work environment. Their level of
awareness about various aspects concerning
sound wage structure, employee
counseling, security, promotion has been
dealt with. Further the above mentioned
factors have been compared with the
democratic factors to expose the
relationship between them. The area of
study is caged in the needle industries
(India) Pvt ltd.
Statement of the problem
The increasing low wage structure, no
employee counseling and no proper
grievance procedure are forcing the
workers to have an indifferent work
environment which in turn will lead to no
co-ordination and low productivity. The
present study is done to explore the
perception among workers about proper
morale building in accordance with their
level of comfort and job satisfaction.
Objectives of the study
The following are the main objectives of
the study:
1) To study the behavioural pattern of the
worker towards each job
2) To find out the workers preference
towards the job
3) To analyze the factors influencing the
workers towards problem free work
environment
4) To identify the level of satisfaction for
each job
5) To offer suggestions based on findings
of the study
Methodology of the study
The present study is conducted with the
help of an interview with the respondents .
The study is confined to Needle Industries
(India) Pvt Ltd , Ooty and the primary data
were collected from 100 male and 80
female respondents.
Limitations of the study
The study has the following limitations:
The sample consists of 180 respondents,
the female respondents are 80 only and not
equal to the sample size of male
respondents
The study is restricted only to the Needle
Industries (India) Pvt Ltd , Ooty , only
3) Some of the respondents were not job

oriented.
Analysis and interpretation
In tune with the objectives of the study,
hypotheses were formulated that there is no
significant association between the job
satisfaction derived by the respondents and
the various independent variables relating

to them such as their age, group, education,
occupation and income.
From Table 1 I it is clear that 21% of the
respondents do not have a proper job
security and no proper installation of
grievance procedure, 17% of the
respondents have low wages and no
delegation of authority, 14% of the
respondents are dissatisfied due to no
promotions and the rest 10% of the
respondents do not have proper employee
counseling.
Hence it can be concluded that the majority
of the workers are suffering from job
insecurity and no proper grievance
procedure.
Findings
The findings of the present study are
summarized below:
1) The survey reveals the most of the
sample respondents do not have job
security
2) The survey also reveals that most of the
sample respondents have problems such as
low wages, employee counseling , less
promotion etc
3) Most of them do not have job
satisfaction
4) From Table

II it can be concluded that
the association between the age group of
respondents and the problems faced by
them are not significant
5) From Table III it can be concluded that
the relationship between the Income and
the problems faced by the respondents is
significant
Suggestions
1) The researcher has analyzed that there
should be proper job security.
2) The job is on contract basis/adhoc basis,
but steps should be taken to make it a
permanent one
3) The researcher has observed that there
should be a good wage payment system
4) The researcher also suggests that there
should be good employee counseling and
more of promotions to boost up the career
opportunities of the respondents
5) More Training & Development of
employees can support the employees to
gain employee loyalty
6) Good work climate, rapport with
subordinates, good work culture, effective
communication, reward & recognition,
understanding the superiors/subordinates
etc will make the employees highly
motivated
7) Employees as Human resources are the
major assets of any industry/company.
They should be highly understood,
recognized and rewarded
Conclusion
In this study the researcher has analyzed
the behavioral pattern of the respondents
towards each job, their job satisfaction and
the problems faced by them on each job.
The researcher has studied the preference
of the respondent towards each job on the
basis of various attributes of administrative
measures for raising morale. As an
outcome of the study most of the
respondents need a proper job security and
not a job on contract basis in association
with a proper grievance procedure and a
good wage payment system
