how to add a prole picture
1. nd a picture. this can be anything! (it does not have to
actually be a picture of you!) if you are having trouble
deciding, dont worry - you can always change it!
2. go to Content > Prole pictures

3. upload your prole picture (if it is too big, check
out the next slide) and set it as default.

blank for you.

4. if you need to make your prole picture smaller,
open it in iPhoto, then click File > Export and make
the quality/size smaller. then try uploading it again!
you probably dont need
to go all the way down to
Low (smallest size) and
Small - you can experiment
how to add friends/groups
1. hover over Groups, click on Find Friends (type in my last
name, Appel, search, then request friendship)
2. hover over Groups, click on Find Groups (type in my last
name, Appel, search, then join the RHHS - Appel Art 2 group
photograph your work.

school camera & lights.

1. get a laptop (notice how / where it is,
and be sure to return it in the same way!)
2. turn it on (HOLD DOWN OPTION, select
Macintosh HD)
3. log in using your school username & PW
4. if that doesnt work, type
before your username,
keep your password the same
5. open an Internet browser

over Art 2, hover over Mahara, then
click on MAHARA LOGIN
8. log in using your school username & PW

1. have photographed at least one work of
art you have made (ex: pre-instructional)
2. get the photograph from the class
computer once uploaded
3. email the photo to yourself or use a ash
drive, then get it onto your mobile laptop
4. edit your photo in iPhoto
5. put it on your Mahara Breadth page
6. save it to YOUR SCHOOL FOLDER!!!

REMEMBER -
After editing, EXPORT your
photos to the DESKTOP and
MOVE THEM to YOUR
FOLDER (otherwise they are
gone forever.)

adding images to your
Mahara portfolio:
Hover over Portfolio, then click on Pages
Click the edit pencil next to the page youre
adding an image to.
Click on Edit Content and Files, Images, and Video
From here, drag (click, hold, and move) the box that looks
like a cartoon landscape (grass, tree, sun) into any part of
the empty white rectangular space above "Done."
CLICK HERE
A window will pop up. Click in the box next to upload le.
Select the image you want to upload and click Open
10. Give your image a better title than Image
Title your image with the assignment title (REQUIRED) and a personal title (ENCOURAGED.)

Childhood Toys (Personal Collection Drawing)
Cylburn Arboretum (Independent Piece)

Scroll down and click on BOTH Show
description and Save!
Finally, we add the works dimensions and media.
Click on the congure box in the corner of your image.
Find the right picture in your list, then click Edit.
Add the dimensions (size) and media (materials) of your work
in the description block. Then click SAVE CHANGES!
Examples: 12x18, drawing pencil
5x3x10, clay sculpture
IMPORTANT - DO NOT
CHANGE THE NAME OF
YOUR FILE
