or the way she was dressed.
But after a moment, I could see, just a part,
of the glorious treasure that hid in her heart.
She was blessed with the Lord's finest beauty,
unpainted and plain,
yet she'd shine in her glory,
when after the rain, in flowers adorned,
she donned her best dress, at sunrise each morn.
I saw in her strength, endurance and pain
as she struggled to store each droplet of rain.

time, the white man learned to plant and grow native
foods, snare wild animals and tame turkeys to eat, and
these gifts from the Pueblos made pioneer living easier
at a later date when the Anglo-Americans arrived.
