Wonderful Bible Verses to Memorize

(Compiled and formatted by Bill Stevenson, http://ourchurch.com/member/f/fortruth)

Note: After I logically formatted another ministry’s “100 in 100” Bible verses list for memorizing, the
Holy Spirit urged me to do this starting with a previous Bible study I did. In this Scripture memorizing
tool, I have used only verses are from the KJV Bible, but they have been slightly modernized. I tried to
pick the best 100 verses (but decided to use only 95) and I put them in a logical order. This memorizing
(or frequent thinking) tool is for true Christians to help them in the tougher times ahead. If you are not
sure you are an adopted child of God as John 1:12-13, 3:3 & 16 indicate, send me an e-mail at
for.trusting.God@googlemail.com.

Why did God create you?

1-4.) Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus said to him,
“You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart,
with all your soul,
and with all your mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it,
you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

5-8.) Ephesians 1:3 & 6-8

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in Heavenly places in Christ;
to the praise of the glory of His grace,
in which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.
in Whom we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace;
in which He has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

9-15.) Ephesians 4-10

But God, Who is rich in mercy for His great love
with which He loved us
even when we were dead in sins,
made us alive together with Christ,
(by grace you are saved;)
and has raised us up together,
and made us sit together in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus;
so that in the ages to come He might show
the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are you saved through faith,
and that not of yourselves,
it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.
For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to good works,
which God has before ordained
that we should walk in them.
16-17.) Jude 24-25
Now to Him Who is able to keep you from falling
and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
to the only wise God our Savior be glory and majesty, dominion and power,
both now and ever. Amen.

18-19.) Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct your paths.

20.) Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this very thing: that He Who has begun a good work in you
will perform it until the Day of Jesus Christ:

21-25.) Philippians 2:1-5

If there be therefore any encouragement in Christ,
if any comfort of love,
if any fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
if any tenderness and mercies,
fulfill my joy, that you be likeminded, having the same love,
being of one accord, of one mind.
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory,
but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves;
not caring just about one’s own things,
but caring about the things of others.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus:

26-28.) Philippians 4:6-8

Be anxious for nothing,
but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding,
will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue and if there be any praise,
think on these things.

29-31.) Romans 12:1-3

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
For I say, through the grace given to me to everyone who is among you,
not to think of himself or [herself] more highly than he [or she] ought to think,
but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every one the measure of faith.

32-35.) Jude 20-23

But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith,
praying in the Holy Spirit,
keep yourselves in the love of God,
looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
And of some have compassion, making a difference.
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire,
hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

What are characteristics and goals of a true Christian?
36.) 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
37.) Romans 14:17
for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking,
but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
38-39.) Matthew 6:33-34
But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow,
for tomorrow shall be anxious for its own things.
Sufficient to the day is the evil of it.
40.) Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your needs
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
41-42.) Hebrews 13:5-6
Let your way of life be without the love of money,
and be content with such things as you have,
for He has said, “Not at all will I leave you,
not at all will I forsake you, never!”
so that we may boldly say,
“The Lord is my helper,
and I will not fear what man shall do to me.”
43.) Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,
who do not walk according to the flesh
but according to the Holy Spirit.

44-46.) 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh,
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
pulling down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
47-49.) 1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world, nor the things in the world.
If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,
because all that is in the world,
the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life,
is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passes away, and the lust of it,
but he who does the will of God abides forever
50-52.) 1 John 5:18-20
We know that everyone who has been born of God does not continue to sin,
but the one born of God guards himself [or herself],
and the evil one does not touch him [or her].
We know that we are of God and all the world lies in evil.
And we know that the Son of God has come,
and He has given us an understanding so that we may know Him Who is true.
And we are in Him Who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ.
This is the true God, and the everlasting life.

53-56.) Ephesians 5:1-4
Be followers of God, as dear children;
and walk in love as Christ also has loved us
and has given Himself for us
as an offering
and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.
Do not let sexual sin and all uncleanness or greediness
be once named among you as is fitting saints,
neither filthiness, foolish talking, jesting which are not right,
but rather thanksgiving.

57-58.) 1 John 3:23-24

And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ
and love one another as He gave us commandment.
And he or she who keeps His commandments dwells in Him, and He in him [or her].
And by this we know that He abides in us,
by the Spirit Who He has given us.
59.) Revelation 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints.
Here are the ones who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
60-64.) 1 John 4:7 & 16-19
Beloved, let us love one another because love is of God,
and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
And we have known and believed the love that God has in us.
God is love,
and one who abides in love abides in God, and God in him [or her].
In this is our love made perfect,
that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment,
that as He is, so also we are in this world.
There is no fear in love,
but perfect love casts out fear,
because fear has torment.
One who fears has not been perfected in love.
We love Him because He first loved us.

65-77.) Ephesians 5:6-12 & 15-21

Let no one deceive you with vain words,
for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the children of disobedience.
Therefore do not be partakers with them.
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord;
walk as children of light
(for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
proving what is acceptable to the Lord.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness,
but rather reprove them.
For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.
See then that you live carefully, not as fools but as wise,
making good use of the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be unwise,
but understand what the will of the Lord is.

4
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is excess,
but be continually filled with the Holy Spirit,
speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
always giving thanks for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
submitting yourselves to one another in the fear of God.

78-79.) 1 John 3:2-3

Beloved, now are we the children of God and it does not yet appear what we shall be:
but we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him,
for we shall see Him as He is.
And every one who has this hope in Him
purifies himself or [herself] even as He is pure.

80-85.) Romans 8:24-29a

For we are saved by hope.
But hope that is seen is not hope,
for what anyone sees, why does he also hope for it?
But if we hope for that which we do not see,
then we wait for it with patience.
Likewise the Holy Spirit also helps our infirmities.
For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought,
but the Holy Spirit Himself makes intercession for us
with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And He searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Holy Spirit,
because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God,
to those who are called according to His purpose.
For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated
to be conformed to the image of His Son,

86-95.) Matthew 5:3-12a

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the Earth.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness,
for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they who have been persecuted for righteousness sake,
for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute you,
and shall say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
Rejoice and be exceedingly glad
because your reward in Heaven is great.
