1. Purpose: The purpose of the guidelines is to lay down broad framework for Review of M.

!. 'cope: This guidelines are applicable to all branches of M. Tech in the *nformation
Technology +epartment )attankulathur for internal review only.

-. Responsibility: ,ll the faculty members of the +epartment of *T are responsible for
implementation of this guidelines.
.. Methodology:
..1. Review Team: (nless otherwise mandated the review of the progress made by the student
will be carried out by a team of ! faculty members as given below:
Project /uide for the 'tudent as approved by the 0ead of the +epartment.
Project 1oordinator so designated by the 0ead of the +epartment.
..!. 2eigtage of Marks: (nless otherwise specified the marks awarded by the guide will
have a weightage of 3"4 of the allotted marks and the project coordinator #"4.
5. The number of reviews and weightage of marks for each review are given in the
(niversity M.Tech Regulations !"1#. *n the following paragraphs some guidelines for
conduct of the review are given.

o To ,ssess the Problem 'tatement of the Project work prepared by the 'tudent.
o To ,ssess the %undamental knowledge of the candidate in the area of work.

o The project proposal can be approved or rejected based on the originality of the work and the
'tudent6s confidence in completing the project.

The candidate is e7pected to complete the following activities
o 'urvey of literature relevant to the area of the work.
o 'tudy of 8ase Paper and Problem %ormulation.

The candidate shall give a Power Point Presentation of the progress of work thus far to the panel of
reviewers for duration of 1"mins. The presentation is e7pected to contain the following information
in the order specified
o :ogical flow of ideas inspired from the survey which leads to the problem 'tatement
o 1lear and 1oncise description of the problem statement.
o Pros and 1ons of e7isting solutions to the problem if any.

The candidate is e7pected to complete the following work
o %ormulation of the solution.
o *dentification of tools to carry out e7periments and test the project outcome.
o %irst +esign of the %ormulated 'olution.
o %irst draft of +evelopment Test Procedures
o *nitial ,nalysis of the %ormulated 'olution using (M: diagrams.
o ;7pected <utcome.
o *dentification of development and test environment

The candidate shall give a Power Point Presentation of the progress of work thus far to the panel of
reviewers for duration of 1.mins. The presentation is e7pected to contain the following information
in the order specified
o , =uick Recap of the Review 1 highlighting the problem statement and formulated solution.
o 1lear +iscussion of the solution.
o *nformation about the development and test environment needed.
o +esign may contain mathematical model of formulated solution algorithm design protocol
design design of (M: diagrams etc>
o ;7perimental procedures $0ighlight the methodologies involved to conduct e7periments&
Test procedures $highlight the different scenarios of test and the outcome& +ata 1ollection
etc>
o ,nalysis shall highlight the pros and cons of the formulated solution impact of the outcome
o 0ighlight the progress in identification of the development and test environment.

implementation of the work contained in the base paper will identify enhancements to
the research ideas contained in the base paper selected by him for the project.'

The candidate shall give a PPT Presentation of the progress of work thus far to the panel of
reviewers for duration of 1.mins. The presentation is e7pected to contain the following information
in the order specified

graphs etc.&
o ,nalysis of the results.
o Plan for implementation of proposed enhancement work and the e7pected outcome
o The %inal draft of the research paper for publication shall be submitted.

o 1omplete implementation of the enhanced project work.
o ,nalysis of the Results.
o +raft outline of the Thesis.
o ,cceptance of research paper for publication in any conference@journals.

The candidate shall give a demo of their completed project work with substantial proofs of the study
e7periments data collection and future enhancements.
Reviewers are encouraged to evaluate the mode of conduct of e7periments and the results produced.

o 'ubmission of report regarding conference participation or Aournal publication.

o The candidate shall give a final presentation of their completed project work with substantial
proofs of the study data collection and the e7periments.
