Two motor drive - Standard on all BHEL Wall
Deslaggers is the unique two motor drive design. One
electric motor extends and retracts the swivel tube,
a full 305 mm, in a quick 3 seconds. This high speed
traverse motion not only saves valuable time between
wall blower sequence but it also quickly removes the
swivel tube from the high temperature zone when the
blowing stops.
The second motor rotates the swivel tube at the
optimum speed for efficient cleaning.
Todays coal fired boilers demand the maximum effective furnace wall slag control. Effective
deslagging entails high striking power combined with the barest minimum 'dead time' between
blowings. WB 1E Wall Deslagger is designed to efficiently meet these needs.

A full 360 degree blowing circle is normal for the
WB 1E.
Separately Mounted Head - Because the WB 1E is
designed with a separately mounted valve head, it
can easily be removed from the main unit without
removing the wall blower from the boiler. But the
Wall Deslagger includes an added advantage, the
WB 1E is now equipped with the 'SBV' head, the
same head that has been used on the BHEL LRD 1E
long retractable soot blowers. This means
interchangeable heads for the entire soot blower
system, spare heads can be kept at a minimum
and maintenance can be reduced. Of course, the
WB 1E can be used for both air or steam service.

The WB 1E offers so many advanced
features that detailed description of all
would be impossible. Some of the many
features are mentioned briefly in the
following pages.
1. The introduction of the removable
swivel tube, eliminates the need for a
feed tube and travelling packing gland. This design has reduced packing failure, bushing wear
and swivel tube deflection. For inspection and replacement, the swivel tube can be removed
from the WB 1E without removing the blower from the boiler.
2. Widely spaced fixed bearings eliminate nozzle whip and help maintain alignment yet allow full
use of blowing medium. All bearings are sealed and no lubrication fittings are required.

3. Two guide rods support and maintain alignment of the
travelling gear box.
4. A heavy gauge steel cover protects rack, guide rods
and swivel tube thereby permitting installation indoors
or outdoors without requiring a change in equipment.
5. Oil filled and sealed gear boxes. All thrust loads are
absorbed by the bearings. The motor, however, can
easily be removed without breaking the oil seals.
Nozzle position with respect to the wall tubes is easily
adjusted externally by using the positioning nuts on the
four support studs of the wall box.

Adjustable Blowing Pressure
Nozzle
An external adjustment screw on the WB 1E Model 'SBV' head
allows simple external pressure adjustment ensuring the right
blowing pressure for the job. Blowing pressure can be checked
and adjusted even while the blower is in operation.
Specially designed high energy venturi nozzles provide the
maximum striking force required for the specific deslagging job.
