InterContinental Hong Kong.

the return air plenum, was used to control
the an speed, via the Ventronics System,
'ased on actual C)* levels. "he System was
set to maintain the C)* level 'elow #+++
ppm and was tuned to operate within limits
so that the e(isting temperature control was
not compromised.

electricity consumption o the supply an, representing
an annual reduction in electricity consumption or the

or the Hotel o HK0+.-/1$%h 2A0+.#&!3 this e4uates
to a reduction o HK0#+&,+-& 2A0*-,+*+3 per year. "he
Hotel 5anagement were so impressed with the results
that they decided to install the e4uipment on the
'allroom air conditioning as well.
"he Ventronics Energy Saving E4uipment was
purchased 'y the Hotel at a cost o 06*7,!++
2A0-&,/++3 ully installed. "his will provide a return on
investment o less than # year. "he Hotel tari will
shortly increase to HK0+.7- urther reducing the return
on investment. "he environmental impact o reducing
energy usage with the Ventronics e4uipment will 'e a
reduction in C)* emissions o 6/+ tonnes per year.

Investments purchased the system under Ventronics;
Energy Saving Contract. "he contract allowed the client
to pay a deposit o HK0,+,+++, with the 'alance o
HK0//+,+++ 'eing paid over time in monthly
installments that are unded rom the actual measured
savings. "he system is warranted and ully maintained
or the duration o the contract.
"he installed system is returning, on average
over -!. reduction in energy cost. "he
system responds to luctuations in the car'on
mono(ide levels in the car par$ and
maintains the levels 'elow 6! parts per
million. "he Hong Kong E5S< speciies a
ma(imum o -! ppm as an & hour time
weighted average, however the client, 'eing
mindul o it;s reputation or providing the
highest standards, chose to operate the
system at the lower set point.
