Please see enclosed a list of secondary school open session dates and times. There is no
substitute for seeing things for yourself. That is why all schools hold open days and evenings
when parents and children can visit and talk to teachers and current pupils. We believe this
provides a very good opportunity for you to get the feel of the school, and strongly encourage
you to attend before submitting your secondary transfer 2015 application by the closing date
of 31 October 2014.
At open sessions, information will be available to help you see whether your child would have
met the oversubscription criteria for this particular school in the past three years. You should
consider this information carefully as a guide to whether you have a realistic chance of being
offered a place at this school. However, please note that due to population changes from year
to year there is no guarantee that the trend in past years will be repeated.
